i presented that document to an elder from our hall... he called and told me exactly what i expected they would say (library card deal).

so i wrote the un and got a letter back saying they were totally seperate and so forth, and fwd'd it to the same elder.

he told me at the meeting that night that he called again and got in touch with someone who knew something.

yes, I knew it was bull. I was just suprised at the ability to glaze over the details so easily. What made me angry though was on the way home I said to DH casually "Well, either the society or the UN is lying to me" and DH got irritable for my implied "assumption"

DH is up for a promotion at work... I don't have the heart to disrupt his life while he is stressed over that, but once he gets it (I have no doubts ) I'm going to leave them for real. I just can't deal with this craziness forever. Plus I'm ready to move on.

I had all these visions of "enlightening" everyone I cared about and leaving together. lol. I have come to realize I'll just be glad to get myself and my kids out :)

I forgot to add that I told him that it was explained to me that the WTS had to submit financial reports and pro-UN articles, so I wasn't sure how they could "not know" and he kind of shrugged and said "well, that is what is going on... so there you have it" and ended the conversation.

So I wrote the UN and got a letter back saying they were totally seperate and so forth, and FWD'd it to the same elder.

He told me at the meeting that night that he called again and got in touch with someone who knew something. He said that in 1991 they were asked to fill out a form for library access, that it wasn't stating that they were joining or anything. So they signed it. Then in 2001 somebody new took over the department at the UN and "decided" that everyone on that "list" were "now NGO's" And that as soon as the brothers recieved notification they disassociated themselves.

I didn't really know what to say... I wasn't expecting that response. He went on to explain that as Jehovah's people it is our responsibility to comply with governmental agencies... and "being an 8th king" that is exactly what they are. I managed to mumble that "it seems like the brothers in malawi were dying for much less" and he didn't have much of a response.

Anyway, for what it is worth... what they are saying to people to question the library card excuse.

So far everything I've looked up has been there in complete form.

However, once I started looking up quotes from "apostate" sites... my CD quit working. I think it is made to self destruct.

The brothers told me my 03 should be here within a month a week or two ago...

Are You a Taker Not a Giver

many posting here once would not accept a blood transfusion or give blood because of the wts doctrine.. having left that doctrine behind and being willing to "accept" a blood transfusion, are you willing (if able medically) to donate blood?.

if willing to accept an organ transplant, are you willing (if medically able) to donate an organ, either as a live donor or when deceased?.

if yes, to both questions, do you donate blood regularly?

jus to be clear- in teh first paragraph about not doing ti just to do it- I am referring to bein a living donor. I would have a hard time compromising my health and such and risk leaving my family motherless.

I am listed as an organ donor, I figured "what do I need it for" fi I were to die. I think I would donate a kidney or such to someone in my family if the need arose, but I don't see myself doing it for someone unknown just to do it.

I've never donated blood, I've always assumed they wouldn't want mine- I have a blood disorder, basically I have an abnormally high platelet count. Now that I'm thinking on it though, it is possible that would be a desired thing to extract clotting factors from.

Just today I ripped up my blood card, so I'm still taking baby steps away. I was always thankful for my clotting disorder as a JW. My chances of bleeding out are smaller than the average person. There are risks (miscarriage, increased risk of heart attacks, clots travelling through lungs) but I thought I had a better chance than some. however it caused me to keep from taking my blood thinners, so I think I might need to call the Dr and get back on those!

Need Paradise Quotes

hello, i am looking for some quotes about jw's restoring the earth to paradise conditions.

i am talking to a long time witness and showing him the fallacy of the paradise earth.

how will all the witnesses clean up all the buildings and rubble, especially since there will be no heavy machinery?

I don't know that I've heard that it will be JW's, most i know believe we'll do the foot work, but that we will need help to actually accomplish it. Obviously a person couldn't empty landills or fix the ozone.

Have you really left?

i'm sure we all view the watchtower society as a mind controlling dictatorship that has systematically destroyed our lives is some shape or form.

i'm sure this is why we've all left, but have we really?

someone can physically leave a religion, but emotionally they're still there.

Hi, I'm sort of new here.

I think I've left emotionally and mentally, but physically not so much.

I still find myself wondering if I'm doing the right thing, and then looking it over it seems I am. I doubt I'll ever find the perfect thing- but I'm going to live and be happy. I'm going to teach my children to live their lives for themselves, and not to please me or anyone else.

Now if I could just get my DH to leave with me I'd be gone physically to!
