Marrying a non-believer?

i am currently dating a jehovas-witness, and have been for a while.

we have talked about marriage, but a lot of what i hear and read is that for her to marry a non-believer is frowned upon by others in the religion.

i am a non-believer of any religion.

Let's face the fact that most girls like guys with $$. Most JW girls I know are very nice and most of them do like $$.

You have to get the girl from attending the meetings gradually, take her out during the meetings hours. This could be a very hard task, if she is a pioneer, then you will have to pretend to be spiritual. Always pretend to be spiritual when you are around her JW friends. I suggest learning some scriptures; this could takes many months. Do not let them see you alone with the girl.

If you don't have that much patient, simply turned up to her house, get on your knees, takes out a big diamond ring and popped the question and if she says no then she is not the girl for you. It is better to find out early than to find out late.

Early Christians did celebrate birthdays as seen in Job 1:4. But many JW celebrate wedding anniversaries ... and wedding anniversary is also pagan.

nightmares

i grew up having nightmares about armageddon, satan and, most of all jehovah.

i am 25 now and i still get nightmares, and they're always about these same things.

i was wondering if my brain is overactive, or if other people on this site get nightmares about things they learned as a witness.

I think what you have just described is called sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis is a condition in which someone, most often lying in a supine (face up) position, about to drop off to sleep, or just upon awaking from sleep realizes that s/he is unable to move, or speak, or cry out. This may last a few seconds or several moments, occasionally longer. People frequently report feeling a 'presence' that is often described as malevolent, threatening, or evil. An intense sense of dread and terror is very common. The presence is likely to be vaguely felt or sensed just out of sight but thought to be watching or monitoring, often with intense interest, sometimes standing by, or sitting on the bed. I used to get lots of these episodes a few years back. They can last from a few seconds to few hours.

i thought of a few ........ 1) christ returned invisibly in 1914 .

2) heavens doors were closed in 1935.

just commented on recent topic titled: who do you blame for the time you wasted as a dub?

this questions got my brain tweaking in some different directions.

some who i admire and respect the opinions of said that they no longer blame anyone and that blaming is a waste of energy.

Blaming people is not the way. I know the people at the top of the organisation are antichrists and are to be damn. The way to get back at them is to get even.

I am going to corrupt as many people in the congregation and set them free from these antichrists. Some nut case have already reported me to an elder but that elder treated me OK, since I was able to shed some light with him concerning the basic doctrines from these antichrists.

Come to think of it, JW wasted many years trying to preach to me, and I am still having problems with their major doctrines.

when you were an elder what sucked most....conducting the schoolconducting the book studyconducting the wt study (having to listen to sister know it all answer over and over...)giving public talks (trying to squeeze sense out of a one page summary of total crap)being an attendant at assembliesbeing food/cleaning/work overseer at assemblies & quickbuildsauditing the finances/paying in contributions at the banktaking the lead in unassigned territory serviceshepherding calls !!!!!

!jc'sget togethers and having to pray !praying at the khserving the emblemsgiving counsel at the school/weaklings/youth(e.g young sisters wearing mini skirts & makeup)being always positive about the "new light" and the gb.training young msworking with the circuit overseer when he visited (on saturday afternoons)giving a "special needs talk"never being able to fart, swear or loose your tempercompelled to having missionary sex, not enjoy it and never discuss it..even with your wife, just incase it may be immoralnever seeing any good movieshaving one beer a fortnight .

Scriptural Support Fo Disfellowshipping?

do the witnesses teach that god doesn't here a disfellowshipped person's prayers?

if so what scriptures do they use to support such an idea?.

is there any scriptures in the 4 gospels, matthew, mark luke or john, that the witnesses use to support disfellowshipping and shunning?

Yes, I agree.
The disfellowship and exocommunication of Churches is mainly based on the belief that Jesus broke the bread only after Judas left the room.
From Matthew, Mark and Luke it seems Judas was present. In John 13:30, Judas left the room straight after Jesus gave him the morsel. However, the account of the breaking of the bread is not present in John. The problem lies in the translation of John 13:2, in KJV it reads "And Supper being ended, ..." and in NWT it reads "So while the evening meal was on going"
Did Jesus forgave Judas? Did Judas partake the Lord's Evening meal??

Hi swalker,

The convenant mentioned in Luke 22:29 is the same promised he made to the apostles in Mat 19:28, and like you said it is part of Jesus talk to settle the "Who is the greatest dispute". This is not the NEW convenant.

1 Cor 11:26, "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes"

All JW shouldn't partake because according to them Jesus returned in 1914.
