Are people REALLY leaving??
by lavendar inwingcommander said in a previous post:.
the bad news is this: the older generation of jw's is dying off, while the younger generation thanks to the internet and research, is able to see through the history of false prophecy and absolute control, and is now leaving in droves!
(he meant "bad news" for the wts).

People are leaving. It is a fact. Are others joining? Yes. That is a fact as well. But it's like losing your hair.
You lose hair, you get it replaced. At some point in time the new hair is of inferior quality and with a shorter life cycle. The shorter the life cycle, the quicker the hair
leaves your head and the slower it is replaced. After a while there are no more replacement hairs and you are bald.
After awhile there will be no more replacement Witnesses in the West. Already the "quality" of new witnessess is below par. They are baptizing CHILDREN for
crying our loud! The Confederacy put children in uniform at the END of their struggle. Germany did the same. They are leaving. Save your son.

Update Regarding How The May 1 QFR Is "Playing" In The Congregations
by Justitia Themis ini have been emailing with a sister in my congregation regarding the qfr.
i told her i wasn't discussing it with most jws, because i didn't want to hear any of their "new light" garbage.
i told her this isn't new light; this just means that what we paraded out in 1935 as "new light" was wrong.. she sheepishly (no pun intended) agreed.

The GB contradict their own doctrine, maybe because they do not understand what they are teaching.
In 1995, not only did the "generations" teaching change, but also the "seperating of sheep from the goats" and the timing of Christ sitting on his throne.
The Bible says that it is at that time, when Christ sits on the thrown, that the chosen ones are gathered. Yet the GB teach that the gathering is "ongoing." Revelation
identifies they great crowd as those that "come out of the great tribulation" which is an event, by their reckoning, to be yet future. So, since the ANGELS gather the chosen ones,
and the great crowd are yet a future group, in what group are witnesses today? They are literally in LIMBO by their own teachings.
I talked to an elder friend of mine the other day about my skipping meetings as of late (it has become quite obvious). I told him that I would go back to the meetings
if he could gaurantee that the doctrines would keep from changing. He couldn't. I haven't.

How much JW doctrine is in harmony with the Bible?
by OnTheWayOut insome have stated that the jw's go too far with their doctrine, but that much of the basic.
beliefs of the religion are correct.
i don't want to debate whether the bible is correct.. i just want opinions on how much of the jw doctrine agrees with the actual teachings of .

I was the poster who said that the Paradise Earth doctrine for all believers except the "anointed" that JW's assert as the "TRUTH" in their theology is not supported in scripture. Here is
what I mean: God, as recorded in Genesis, told Adam and Eve to be "fruitful and multiply and to have in subjection the creatures of land, sea, and air." That was it. That was the only
affirmative command placed on man and it was without promise or consequence.
The addition of a promise or a consequence is significant to me, for Jesus said to the Pharisees that they
invalidated God's word, namely "Honor your father and your mother, which is the first commandment WITH A PROMISE."
The other was about not eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and bad. Not an affirmative
command, but a PROHIBITION with a consequnce. No where in this account does God say that man would live forever on Earth.
Then you have Christ coming, Christ who reconciles all things to God, who is the fulfillment of the phrophets and of law and the "gaurantee" of God's PROMISES, and what he offers
is life in heaven, to dwell in the house of his father, the place to where he was going and where his disciples would follow. So if Christ came to restore all things, and the life he PROMISED
was in heaven, where does "living forever on a paradise Earth" fit in? Why not promise life on Earth? Why is it so difficult for those who believe in God and the Bible, who believe that the
plan of God was a "sacred secret", to also believe that in time God would have revealed His purpose for man one step at a time, gradually, as He has done thus far, except without sin in
the picture? Why not believe that God knew all these things were going to happen and allowed them to happen, without recriminating God?
I believe in God. I believe that the Bible has lots that is from God, but has lots that is not from God. "Test the inspired expression to see whether it originates with God." That is sage
advice from the Bible itself. And if the everlasting future of any believer in God depends on their discerning the "truth" about God, why would it be wrong to look at the Bible critically?
I think for any former Jehovah's Witness, credulity in the sayings of anyone has no place in their paradigm.
JW doctrine is full of lies, half truths, superstition. They are the blind leading the blind. I do not believe that any person who cannot bring himself to accept the Bible as the inerrant
Word of God has renounced either his faith or belief in God. I can understand why many would see it all as a fairy tale. Frankly, it is quite UNBELIEVABLE. However,
I have come to learn that just because something is unbelievable does not make it less true or real. Often, fantastic things are, in fact, true. Paradise Earth JW style is not
one of those things.

No one has talked about it that I know. Most JW's won't care and won't read it anyway. The mags end up in a closet or garbage can.

I have not been to a Book Study since the Revelation book began to be studied again. It was this that 'accelerated" my fade. My wife asked me why I didn't go to
Book Study, and I told her the truth---- it offends my conscience to have to repeat this stuff as truth when i know it is not.

Is this blasphomy!?

I believe it is blasphemy, not blasphomy.
Welcome.
This is a refuge for Jehovah's Witnessess. When you are tired of all they tell you to do and the guilt they lay on you for being unable to do it, you can find
refreshment here, brother.

It's not bad, it's good. ....no, really.
by ozziepost intake a look at this from the wt's own site:.
such an examination will show that instead of bringing a cataclysmic end, armageddon will introduce a happy beginning for people who desire to live and thrive in a righteous new world.
you will be rewarded with a clear understanding of this vital scriptural truth as you consider the discussion of armageddons real meaning in the next article.. what do you think armageddon is?a nuclear holocaust an environmental disaster a collision of a celestial body with the earth divine destruction of the wicked .

It is so patently unfair to compare human beings with God. "We are not as good, not as righteuos, not as pure, not as holy.....etc"
How does anyone know that? How can anyone KNOW that?
If God created everything and If GOD wanted us to be JUST LIKE HIM he would have made us JUST LIKE HIM. We BECOME like Him in that with
all the shit that He has allowed to happen, with all the shit evil people throw our way, with all the unfairness and injustice and lies from people who come
in HIS NAME, we somehow manage to figure out that loving one another and being decent human beings and good neighbors and not totally screwing up
our children are the things that matter. We learn the things that are important and discard all the other ritualism that enslaves us.
God is more like us than religion will ever admit. Religion just can't control the masses by teaching that. He would be too reachable and understandable. And if we
could reach Him and understand Him, then we would need religion, right? So they keep Him a mystery, veiled, his thoughts inscrutable, his dwelling an infinity, his essence
unknowable---- unless you go through the priest, pope, FDS, GB, whoever------

Myeleine:
I am not referring to "spiritual" darkness. I am referreing to the writings which clearly say that the angels which forsook their original positions are reserved for judgement
under eternal bonds---- in other words, restraints. If you or I were resevered for judgement we would be on death row under tight security to ensure not only that we be
delivered to the executioner, but to ensure the SAFETY of the public in the meantime.
Either they are in bonds or they are or not. And if they can possess and harass humans, then I suggest they are not and thus the gospels contradict the epistles.

I'll take a shot at your question from the point of view of someone who got the truth about the truth. I will tell you what I beleive:
Wrong:
Two classes of Christians
Two destinies for believers
Intercession of Priests(for JW's it is the intercession of the FDS)
Paradise Earth was God's Eternal purpose---- I do not think you can put God in a box from the two Chapters in Genesis. JW's do, however.
FDS Doctrine
The entire "God's sole channel" doctrine
Any prophetic statement in the Bible which they apply to themselves
Spiritual Paradise
Invisible Kingdom in 1914
Armageddon
Millenial Reign complete with resurrection, rest of the dead, final test, etc....
Any restriction on dress and grooming in writing or not
Centralized ecclesiastical authority
