We were all conned with new light and old light. As for the story about a new direction with the generation thing from Brooklyn, I think it's on the up and up.

Are we being conned re new light?
by why144000 ini have been reading with interest the news of the next change in the generation teaching.
does anyone have any substantive proof that this change will be made?
it could be a big con to get us all excited and tell others about it and reveal that we are, wait for it, apostate!!

nine pages of BS from October AWAKE
by purplesofa ini hope that some of you lurkers out here really take a look at some of the thread in this section of the board.
this awake magazine says not one thing about how families are asked to trust their elders and how these very elders were and are abusing their children.
it mentions nothing about watching out for these trusted men in the congregations.............oh it brings out the internet, other family members and fathers and males in particular.. it will tell you how much your child needs to do to prevent something like this from happening.

I noticed with interest how they remark that secular governments are now recognizing what the Bible has said all along regarding forcible rape and child molestation: that they are in essence the same even if force is not used. Why?-- they ask. Because children do not have the intellectual capacity of adults and therefore are vulnerable to an adult's greater intellect.
First, secular governments have recognized this for decades, at least in this country. It's statutory rape.
Second, they correctly state that children just cannot think and reason like adults. They lack capacity and guile. They are easily led and taken advantage of. All true.
Then, HOW COME YOU PRESSURE THEM TO BE BAPTIZED--- THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION OF THEIR LIVES ACCORDING TO YOU----- WHEN YOU YOURSELVES ADMIT
THEY LACK THE CAPACITY REQUISiTE OF SUCH A MONUMENTAL DECISION? AND THEN YOU SHUN THEM WHEN THEY GAIN SUFFICIENT CAPACITY TO ACTUALLY
UNDERSTAND THEY WERE DUPED!
These guys are sociopaths. Every motive of theirs' is beleivable to me except one: goodness.

Trouble with the Paradigm
by RollerDave inok, so if i follow the paradigm, the afterlife goes like this:.
all the good little folks go to heaven where they sing, float around, maybe watch over some clueless schlub back here, and are permanently joyous because they are wired that way and have no choice in the matter, but are basically 'staff'.
the wicked, who got to have a bit more fun while alive, go down to hell where they are poked, prodded, and buggered by demons, they are 'clients', but not 'staff'.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, all the demons, including the head demon--Lucifer----, gets to stay in heaven for thousands more years until Judge Rutherford declares
that he and the others were cast out of heaven.

I here Thursday nights are hell in Hell!
Seriously, Uncle Bob cannot be a demon because he proved himself faithful enough to go to heaven and receive immortality--- thus he would be wired to also be good and joyous, never
being able to rebel. Immortals apparently receive some sort of angelic lobotomy. Only pre-human angels get to rebel, have indiscrimate sex with pre-flood humans, super huge offspring,
and then when the party is over, get to possess the bodies of Jews in Jesus day, the "chosen" people of God, the seed of Abraham.
That makes much more sense to you, right?

Thanks for the info.
So, we must be followers, yet no hierarchy exists? I guess when you follow other people around in a circle it really doesn't qualify as a hierarchy. Maybe the Witness
leadership will give new light into the "circle jerk" and how "you can be counted worthy of lending a hand to your brother."
Thanks again.

My new goal re new Generation light
by 5thGeneration inif the 'new light' on 'generation' discussed earlier is accurate then it certainly will move me to continue on in my ministry.. i was slacking off because i thought the preaching work was near complete without growth!
now i can be confident that in 10 or 20 years the society will simply announce that a new batch of brothers have started partaking, the generation will continue and it is a sign that jehovah has provided more time for people to come into the truth!.
another fine blessing!.

Lots and lots of "replacements" in heaven, don't you think? Maybe the former crop of anointed were part of the many who were "called" and not "chosen" so
God has to have a new batch "called" and so choose from these. Perhaps they won't be as thankless as their replaced brethren?

When I was still in, and after having read COC, the BOE received a letter from the branch asking for the CO's usual per publisher payment for his
health care/vehicle/ etc..... Usaully there is no great discussion involved, the Service Department sets a quota and the Elders' rubber stamp it. They then form this
into a "resolution" for the general congregation which they present at the Service Meeting. No one has ever voted against one, in my experience.
This time the letter had a paragraph in it that said, and I paraphrase, 'of course, if any congregations wish to contribute more than their publisher responsibility,
this would be welcome.'
This is where the discussion began. I was very surprised that I wasn't the one who brought it up. Apparently the PO, the Service Overseer, and this other Uber Elder had
planned to introduce the idea to contribute more than our allotted share based on the premise that we had the "money in the bank." This apparently wrankled one of the older
elders. First, he said, it was not "our money." It was the publisher's money. Second, he said, the Branch was asking that all this money come out of funds that went
into the congo's box, not the World Wide Work box. Weren't the CO's part of the WWW? Why not come out of those funds?
It was great to hear the conversation that ensued. An apostate in the making really saw things so clearly for one of the first times and over something that was usually
handled so perfunctorily.
I saw how the BOE's really don't have the pubs. interests at heart. They really thought much more of their own wisdom than had respect for the wishes of the pubs. I said as much.
When challenged on this, I explained very simply that each member of the congregation had a choice to make as where their funds go. If they put it in the WWW box, that's where
they by virtue of their contribution had expressed where this money should be spent. If they wanted the congo's funds to be spent on the CO's, then they could place more money into the
WWW fund. But they wanted the congo's funds spent on the congo--- reparing the bathrooms, the parking lot, maintenance, a new lawn mower, etc..... In essence, we were using our
authority to displace the wishes of those who had contrubuted. This to me was patronizing and dishonest.
Anyway, there were only 3 elders who voted against the resolution. When presented to the congregation, of course, an explanation was not given to them about how
their money was being spent and why it wasn't going to where they had intended it to go. It was all in the name of Jehovah, don't you know.
This was one more nail in the WTS coffin for me.

What's better? To live a lie or tell your spouse the religion is lies?
by truthseeker ina close friend of mine who is still an active dub believes it is ok for a spouse to leave their partner if they found out that they did not believe the society had the truth.
in other words, if a loyal jw spouse found a copy of coc in their partner's possession, it's perfectly justified for that spouse to walk out on the marriage.
so i said to him, did jesus allow for divorce not only for fornication, but for possessing coc or simply no longer believing the society has the truth?

A few months ago i finally told my wife it was all lies. It did not go well. But I had concluded in my own mind that if I could not trust and speak to my own wife, then what
kind of marriage did I really have?
While she maintains she loves me, she has contempt for me because I dared to question the Borg. And contempt is a harbinger of doom.
It is personal and there are no good answers for anyone.
All the best.
