  Maybe there seem to be so many contradictions because it never happened. I thought I would never see myself type that, but believing the story to be allegory is easier than beleiving it to be true.

  Interesting, from my own perspective as a believer in God, that Jesus never confirmed the whole creation account. He referred to the beginning where "HE" created them male and female when refuting the Sadducees. But actually confirming the story as history, he never really did that. Wouldn't you think some one might have asked a question or two about it?

  This is what it has all come down to: DEATH. The WTS has held the carrot out to millions that they would NEVER have to die to receive the "reward." If you believe anything the Scriptures say about this, you would have to admit that in order to receive the "reward", the "gift", the "crown of life" (as Jesus had writen to the 7 congregations) one has to die. It isn't fear of Satan that keeps people from experiencing the best life they can today, it is the fear of God put into their minds by the WTS that stunts a person's dreams, hopes, and aspirations. If the "work they did goes with them" (to paraphrase the scriptures) is true, why not do all that your hand finds to do?

  As for a clone enjoying eternity, I agree with VM44. The WTS definition of a resurrection has NOTHING to do with the PERSON who hoped in that resurrection. If everything about you is gone, including that essence that made you who you are, then it is something other than who "you" who stands up. "You" continue to be non-existant.

  If, on the other hand, what we know as Death today simply means that we are transferred from one plane of existence to another, then I think "you" would continue. "Christendom's" hope of life in Heaven is certainly more believable to me now than the WTS's "resurrection."

  i had known him for thirty five years, he was part of our r/c flying group.

  he was 81 years old.

  i hope i have 10 more years to go flying my r/c planes.. ken p..

  "But what do i tell the friends?"

  so three weeks ago my wife and i had an emotional discussion wherein i finally told her that this religion was not the truth.

  there was much emotion, a chill has ensued in our relationship.

  (i haven't been to a meeting in 4 months now, and have not reported time in two months) i am sure many of you know the drill.. towards the end of our conversation, she asks: but what do i tell the friends when they ask about you?.

  Thanks for all your comments. The experiences of so many are so eerily similiar. I know many a JW who see things wrong with the religion and shrug it off. It is very frustrating.

  Is the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society an Anti-Christ Organization?

  the wbt$ certainly puts themselves as mediator between god and mankind..very unchristian.....in many cases the wbt$ would have us ignore the words of jesus and have us rely on them,for any meaning the bible may have..as in the case of the september 15th 1968 watchtower artical "why are you looking foreward to 1975??

  ?..the writer tells us "this is no time to be toying with the words of jesus!

  "..the end is very near..this was on a thread by another poster a few days ago.....we all know that armageddon did not arrive as predicted by the wbt$ in 1975..but..to work up the 1975 frenzy,jw`s were told to ignore the words of jesus.....is telling people to ignore the words of jesus,anti-christ behavior?.....outlaw

  My answer to your question is: YES.

  The WTS is anit-Christ.

  They deny grace based upon Christ's ransom. They deny all their adherents (save for the die hards who beleive in heaven) a relationship with Christ. They usurp the role of Christ as mediator, as you point out. They substitute works over grace. They do not witness to Jesus. They have changed the Bible to deempasize Jesus. They compel members to confess their sins to 3 men who then decide if they are repentant, thus usurping once again the role of Christ as Savior and Judge. They make all members submit to them, when it is Christ that is the HEAD of EVERY man. I can go on.

  They are evil, this bunch. Evil.

  The Eden Story

  in the garden of eden, god supposedly didn't want adam and eve to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad.

  he preferred they remain innocent and incapable of deciding for themselves what is right or wrong.. along comes satan who wants them to eat of this tree and says they will become like god, knowing good and bad for themselves.

  he says they will be like god.. as we all know, they chose to eat and find out what they were missing.

  How can innocents go head to head with Satan? Adam and Eve didn't stand a chance. God knew exactly what would happen. It may all be part of his plan.

  Amazing how much time I have with my family now.

  i have been fading pretty fast over the last several months.

  it is amazing how much time service, meetings and the before and after meeting socializing takes away from your life.

  i have noticed that i have more time to spend with my family, my marriage feels better and i spend more one-on-one time with my son.

  in the 1950's i remember they used to say what they were disfellowshipped for, whether it be fornication, stealing, etc.

  then it was disfellowshipped for "loose conduct", then "conduct not becoming a christian.

  " then it was simply "disfellowshipped" or "disassociated.

  I remember it that way. I was 4 years old when I asked my mom what fornication was. She asked me where I had heard that word. I told her at the Kingdom Hall. Her answer was pretty good: It's something Jehovah's Witnesses aren't supposed to do.

  This wasn't a shock to her (my thinking), my telling her forthrightly and in no uncertain terms may have been. We have had discussions before. But to be fair, we have been married over a decade, and I finally reasoned to myself that I have been a faithful and considerate husband, I have given her a great life, I have allowed her to be her own person and realize her potential. What the hell am I so scared of? If I can't talk to my own wife, then who in the world can I talk to?

  It affects her socially. JW's are nosy. No one really cares about HOW I am. I was an elder in this congo for years, had book study at my house for most of those years, every one knows where I live. And her concern was not for my everlasting life, which was quite telling to me and made me a little sad, instead: but what do I tell the friends? I'm glad I tossed the Medical Directive in the shredder a couple of months ago.
