How are JW's going to be able to know if a person left on their own or was kicked out for wrongdoing? This new policy is giving the elders more power to kick inactive ones out or even kick out "marked"ones out. The shunning will be the same for all catorgories. I was also wondering what about people that are put on "public reproof" has that announcement changed? And if someone want to come back how will that announcement sound? Will it say so and so is a JW once again or will they say so and so is reinstated? What about non-baptized JW's how will they be announced out? Does anybody have the new book that answers these questions?

Is the society shooting themselves in the foot with the new DF policy?
by truth_about_the_truth inlet's face it, it seems like a simplification of the df process as many of you have already mentioned.. within the 6 million or so jw worldwide, there has to be a good number of ppl that are on the fringes of being dfed.
in the past, it took time to technically df these ppl because of the no-shows at judicial hearings and appeals.
also dfing a person can be delayed when no actual proof can be provided of the sin committed.

do any posters out there know of other dates suggested for armaggeddon that jw's claimed after 1975. i was talking to an elder the other day and he still insist that "apostates" started the 1975 rumor and some dedicated jw's fell for the rumor and that the wts never said 1975 was the end of the world.
he also claims that the wts only said that maybe the world would end but that they never said point blank that 1975 armaggeddon was arriving.

Should I "picket" the JW assembly with my "apostate" friends or not?
by booker-t inevery year since i da'ed myself i have two good friends that are ex-jws that beg me to come and "picket'' the jw assemblies with them.
i have turn them down every year but i kind of think i want to do it because my reasoning is that if i picket i will finally be telling jw's and the wts that i am not afraid of them.
i didn't realize how much "fear" the wts puts into its members until the other day when i ran into my jw sister at the supermarket and she literally left her 1/2 full shopping cart and ran out of the store without speaking to me.

Every year since I DA'ed myself I have two good friends that are ex-jws that beg me to come and "picket'' the JW assemblies with them. I have turn them down every year but I kind of think I want to do it because my reasoning is that If I picket I will finally be telling JW's and the WTS that I am not afraid of them. I didn't realize how much "fear" the WTS puts into its members until the other day when I ran into my JW sister at the supermarket and she literally left her 1/2 full shopping cart and ran out of the store without speaking to me. This made me angry as well as furious to think that the WTS has that much power to controll people. Now I want to stand in front of the assembly with 10 picket signs for all the JW's to see that I am not under their controll. Somebody once said that leaving the JW's is like leaving the "mob or mafia". I think that is a perfect scenerio because JW's are literally terrified of the WTS. I want to hear from ex-jws that picketed since you left the JW's how did it make you feel? Was it liberating? Were you afraid? Did you see old friends and family members looking at you with disgust? Give me some advice because my friends have already made the ex-jw picket signs. My friends have told me that the JW's can be cruel towards apostates such as spitting at them, trying to run them over with their car, throwing trash at them, etc;

i was wondering what did jw's do to people that refused to give up wrong conduct before the 1952 disfellowshipping came into place?
i know that in the 60's people were put on "probation" for wrongdoing but what about unrepentent sinners?

I borrowed the"Proclaimers" book from the library and read it totally
by booker-t inwhen i left jw's in 1993 i remember that year because the "proclaimers"book came out in the same year and i never got a copy because i da'd myself.
i was recently at the library and was shocked to see the proclaimers book on the shelf.
i grabbed the book and checked it out and took it home and read it from cover to cover in 2 days.

I was recently at the library and was shocked to see the proclaimers book on the shelf. I grabbed the book and checked it out and took it home and read it from cover to cover in 2 days. I must admit the Society is very clever in admitting their mistakes in a way that is so sugar coated. I wished I could have known some of the things that the Society did in the old years that way I could have argued the Judicial committee that DA'd me down tooth and nail. The books mentions Beth-Sarim, Pyramidology, 1975, 1925 and other failed predictions that the JW's had. I remember when I was a devout JW and people would tell me some of the things JW's did I would argue that we did not say such and such. What did many of you(ex-jws) think when the proclaimers book came out? Did you already know some of the skeletons or was you finding out for the first time? And also does anybody have a copy I can buy? If so E-mail me at [email protected] and let me know if I can buy a copy.

Did you "shun" your Disfellowshipped or Disassociated Children as a JW?
by booker-t inwhen you were a devout jw or if you are now how did you feel "shunning" you df'd or da'd children?
how can a loving parent totally cut off their child?
i don't have any children as of now but i would totally kill me to treat my own flesh and blood as if they did not exist and i just don't know what does a parent tell themselves to justify the shunning?

I don't have any children as of now but I would totally kill me to treat my own flesh and blood as if they did not exist and I just don't know what does a parent tell themselves to justify the shunning? What would the parent feel like if their DF'd or DA'd child died and the JW parent never had a chance at reconciling. I would like to hear from parents who had DF'd or DA'd children and shunned them. My aunt recently told my DF'd cousin to move out of her house and she can only move back in when she is reinstated. My cousin is only 17 years old and moved in with her non-jw boyfriend.

I ask them what is the difference when JW's or Mormons do the same thing? Born-agains will immediately switch the subject and say that they believe in Jesus and the Mormons and JW's do not. But the question is not whether they believe in Jesus but whether or not these things and beliefs were at one time held by many born-again christians in the early centuries. I am curious to what you posters have heard as an excuse made by born-again christians about some of their outrageous beliefs and predictions? I am sure many of you will immediately have some denial but if you are truthful with yourself as you insist JW's should do then you will have to admit born-again christianity is far from perfect. I used to wonder why do born-agains act soooooooooooo fanatical? I admire faith and conviction but you don't have to attack and insist on every body believing in Jesus in order to being saved as a basis for salvation. "Hell" is another subject that would annoy me with born-agains. Why do they put everyone in hell that doesn't agree with them? They seem to get a pleasure in thinking of a person burning for all eternity. What Jehovah and Jesus has in store for unrepentant wrongdoers only Jehovah and Jesus knows not people on earth today.

My "best friend's" pioneer JW daughter completely "shuns" him What can I do

it hurts me when i see him hurting.
his daughter got married and refused to invite him because he is disfellowshipped.

It is eating me alive watching my "best friend" who is DF'd for questioning the WTS completely shunned by his pioneer JW daughter. It hurts me when I see him hurting. His daughter got married and refused to invite him because he is Disfellowshipped. I am afraid that my friend might become suicidal if his daughter continues to shun him. He raised his daughter in JW's since she was born in 1980 my friend was baptized in 1973 and left the WTS in 1993. The elders told his daughter that if she invited her DF'd dad to the wedding she would be DF'd also so his daughter gave in to the elders. I have tried to be their for my friend since my own mother has been shunning me completely only if I talk to her in the kingdom hall with the elders present will she exchange words with me. She feels that the elders would give her good scriptual food on how to treat her disfellowshipped son. I don't care anymore what my mom thinks I will never go back to the JW's. My friend even made a comment of getting reinstated just so he can talk with his daughter again. What advice can I tell him because I tried to get reinstated years ago after my DA and the elders treated me like rotten milk and I walked out of that KH and never went back. When I debated my mom that was the first time that I had step foot in a KH in years. I am free as a bird now and I want my friend to feel the same way. Any advice?

She said that since we are in the last days Satan will make an all out attack on JW's and some will fall away and slip up even JW's leaders so she said Jehovah will cleanse his org of corruption in due time just like he did with the isarelites that fell and worshipped the golden calf. She mentioned the scriptures about the weeds growing along side the wheat in Jesus' parable and said that JW's will have corrupt JW's alongside of them until Jesus comes back to cleanse the cong of God.
