  I am surprised that your father didn't react the way Caleb did toward his daughter. Judges 1:14-15 (New English Bible) says: "As she sat on the ass, she broke wind, and Caleb said, 'What did you mean by that?' She replied, 'I want to ask a favour of you. You have put me in this dry Negeb; you must give me pools of water as well.' So Caleb gave her the upper pool and the lower pool."

  You might want to show your father these verses and maybe he will give you an new swimming pool like Caleb did for his daughter when she broke wind.

  What is with the illiterate hillbilly "Hollywood Indian" act. Your sentences indicate that you have a familiarity with American English that would be found in a native speaker. In fact your postings show that you really have to work at playing illiterate. So why don't you cut the crap and write your postings to this board in the same language that you use to email your JW friends?

  Did The Times Article Make Your Paper?

  i thought it would be interesting to list all the papers that carried the new york times article.

  yesterday, i noted the orange county register (california), someone else the santa barbara news-press (california) and still another the denver post (colorado).

  today i came across it in the lexington herald (kentucky).

  Surprisingly my local paper The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, which is owned by the New York Times, did not publish the article. In fact the Press Democrat hasn't published anything on the JWs lately. However, the paper has given a lot of print to the scandal in the Roman Catholic Church, but again nothing on the JW's dirty laundry.

  it takes but one major star, producer or hollywood executive to take the tragic silentlambs saga to heart.

  DO you REALLY think this is THE END OF JW's?

  everytime a new revelation comes to the board, some suggest that this is the big one.

  whether it be the blood issue, the u n debacle, the silentlambs saga, some cryptic comment about jw's and their involvement with churches, it seems like nothing effects the jehovah's witnesses rank and file.

  I don't think the recent scandals in the Watch Tower will cause it to suddenly collapse. However, the JWs are still basically a convert's religion. Most of those raised in the Watch Tower leave the JWs when they become adults. The internet has slowed the number of converts in Europe and North American to a trickle. So without the new blood of converts the Watch Tower will gray and stagnate.

  The younger members of the GB may initiate some reforms and push the organization toward the mainstream, in the hopes of attracting new members. But major changes in doctrine coming too fast can also cause a split in the organization, with Reform JW congregations on one side and the Orthodox JWs on the other. Though the Watch Tower will not disappear anytime soon, it will have to change. Hopefully it will change for the better.

  hello everyone ... just got back from the bible students general convention held in johnstown, pa, just outside of pittsburgh/allegheny, birth place of the watch tower bible and tract society.

  i was browsing one of the tables where one could place or pick up programs of various bible student conventions being held throughout the usa and came across the program for the grand rapids bible students convention to be held in october.

  they have four speakers, and what a motley crew it is.

  i have had skyye vodka, made in good old california, san fran to be exact.

  ketel one is from holland and it seems to be smoother than stoly.... now i have heard that even texas makes a vodka?

  I used to drink Izmira, a Turkish Vodka, which was distilled from white beets. To me it was much smoother than some of the other brands.
