Has anyone ever munched at the memorial?

i have always wanted to do that at a kingdom hall.

over the past few years i celebrated pesach (passover) with some jewish friends and it was so cool to be able to munch the food.

besides the jewish tradition was much more fun and was more like a party.

Last year I attended the Memorial for the first time in 20 years. I was the only one in attendance who partook of the matzo and wine. I don't know if they counted me since I am not a JW.

How would you act and dress.....if you did go to the hall just once?

her thread asked why aren't you at the hall and it made me think about how i would be if i did go.. how would you dress?.

As Robdar mentioned earlier, we attended the Theocratic School and Service Meeting at the KH as a newly-wed couple. We were so convincing that the JWs believed us. Robdar was great. They had no idea that we were both ex-JWs.

I wore a black sports coat, gray slacks, and a black dress shirt with a white tie. I also had an American Flag pin in my lapel.

We sat in the back row and the JWs loaned us the baby-shit brown song book, but we didn't sing along with them. During the Service Meeting Robdar went out for a smoke. I began to get nervous because she was gone for over 20 minutes. When she got back she told me the sisters had followed her out and gave her the love bombing treatment. As soon as the meeting was over they love bombed us both for about 30 minutes more. Guess they need converts real bad.

After we left the KH Robdar said that the JWs were probably counting the time they spent talking to us. So when you read the Watchtower report for the 2002 service year for the United States be aware that at least one of the hours recorded was time spent witnessing to Robdar and Athanasius.

i woke up with "i want to" in my head this morning... havent been to a meeting lately, so what gives?

does this ever happen to any one else?

I've been out for 20 years and have forgotten most of them. They had just gotten the "baby shit brown" song book around the time that I left. It had a number of new songs, which fortunately I didn't have to listen to. However, I do remember one song that sounded like it was ripped off from the Loony Tunes cartoon theme music. Do they still play it at the KH?

i can't believe that you all would rather be doing something else besides sitting at the kh enjoying the latest spiritual nourishment served up from the loving gb.......you must be a bunch of heathens!

heh, i am getting ready to go to work and then i am having my latest beau over for sunday dinner.

My girlfriend and I celebrated Valentine's day together and I didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. this morning. Since I was too tired to go to Mass, and I certainly don't have the energy to endure a two hour religious sales pitch at the KH.

Sorry that you have to work today, Robyn. Hope that you had a nice Valentine's day.

2/3rds of churchgoers vote republican while 2/3rds of non-churchgoers vote democrat.

i posted an unofficial poll for jwd posters in order to compare and contrast.

Sorry that I missed 60 Minutes. Intestingly both my girlfriend and I attend church. She is registered Democrat and I am registered Republican.

What do you say when the Mormons come by?

just got through having a conversation with two mormons going door to door on this cold saturday here in fort worth, texas.

damn, they remind me so much of jehovah's witnesses it isn't even funny: the same zeal, the same conviction, the same confidence.

as a matter of fact, they seemed a lot more of all these things.

The LDS (Mormon) missionaries don't seem to visit my neighborhood. However, last Saturday the JWs had set up a stand outside a WalMart store. They had all their liturature spread out on a card table. So I thought I would have a little fun with them. I asked if they had the Book of Mormon. They looked at little embarrased and said no. Then one said we are JWs. So I said: "Oh," and walked away.
