Former President Dwight Eisenhower had six brothers, Edgar, Earl, Milton, Arthur, Roy, and Paul. Paul died in infancy. See Mandate For Change by Dwight D. Eisenhower, page 32. None of the Eisenhower brothers adopted their mother's religion. The Eisenhower who was Branch servant in Artentina was no relation, or at best a distant relative.

Dennis Rodman a Former Jehovah's Witness?...
by Tuesday ini just came across something saying that one of his adopted parents was a jw and he was raised one as well.. there's something about ex-jws that just go against the flow of what's expected of them.
there's the wayans, latoya jackson, patti smith, xzibit.. i also read that dwight d. eisenhauer left, but not only left openly spoke out against it's teachings.
can anyone verify this?

Hi Bangalore. Thanks for posting. It is interesting how much the late Freddy Franz's voice and mannerisms were so like C. T. Russell.

Interesting post Renaiaa.
One Yahweh--unchanged
No imortal soul--unchanged
Jesus is God's son--unchanged
No hellfire--unchanged
These are core Christadelphian beliefs, and the Christadelphian Church is older than the Jehovah's Witness church. However, the Christadelphians don't flip flop on their other beliefs like the Watchtower does.

Recently disfellowshipped prominent Assembly overseer in Western Europe now speaking out against the Watchtower org.
by the research lady informer elder, and assembly overseer roberto from france will be joining barbara and joe anderson on tonight's conference call, july 18,2009. roberto was disfellowshipped in june 2009 and after many faithful years of service is now joining thousands of others who are speaking out against the evils of the watchtower organization.
our call tonight will be focused on how the country of france, as well as other european countries are investigating jehovah's witnesses.
the watchtower organization is experiencing difficulties in these countries for the inhumane treatment and exerting too much control over people's lives.

Hi Renaiaa. I doubt that you will ever answer this, but why do you defend the Jehovah's Witness organization when they won't accept you as a member in good standing? You spend all your time on this forum and leave no time for meeting attendance, personal study, and field service. You can never become a Jehovah's Witness in good standing unless you do.

My Assignment For Ray Franz
by sacolton intoday i met the widow of ed dunlap, who was of the watchtower writing committee and a great thinker.
he found that the watchtower was not in harmony with the scriptures, so they disfellowshipped him.
when ray franz was disfellowshipped, it was ed who took him in and gave ray a job and a place to stay.

Ed Dunlap never served on the Governing Body, but he was one of the Watchtower's best writers. He wrote the Commentary on the Letter Of James, one of the Watchtower's better publications. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the only Bible commentary published by the Watchtower.
I was sorry to hear of Ed's passing. It is good to hear that his wife is doing well.

Hi Reniaa. I agree with you about the benefits of group Bible study. In fact my church has group Bible study where all who attend can participate and share their observations of the Scripture reading. However, it is a free Bible study where the Bible is allowed to speak to each of us. It is not the study of a magazine where the questions are found at the bottom of the page and the answers are in the paragraphs above.

What can I say to JW's about Michael Jackson's life and death?
by BonaFide inas an active witness, i am still in association with witnesses in field service, meetings, and occasionally at get-togethers.
we usually go to eat at a restaurant after the sunday meeting.. so tomorrow i am sure we will be talking about michael jackson.
i live in southern california, and i know one sister in our usual group has met mj's mother, and is very supportive of her.

Hi Reinna,
From reading your first post on this topic I get the impression that you feel that if someone of another religion tries to convert a Jehovah's Witness that it is an act of hate. Strange. Even when I was an active JW I never viewed a Christian's attempt to convert me as a hate crime.
I asked you this before, but never got an answer. Do you think that persons of other religions should have the same freedom to proselytize Jehovahs Witnesses as the Witnesses claim for themselves?

I remember serving on a JC that was considering the reinstatement of a sister who had been disfellowshipped by another congregation's JC. We noted her repentant attitude and recommended that she be reinstated. Afterward she thanked our JC for not requesting that she explain all the gory details about the sexual act that caused the other JC to DF her.
Being aware that some JCs went too far in their request for intimate details of "sexual wrongdoing," any JC that I served on I made sure that such questions were not asked of the person. What do these details have to do with the person's repentence? However, there were elders who got their jollys off asking such intimate questions.

I just called the local KH and asked if they were going to have a memorial service for Michael Jackson. The guy who answered the phone said: "No." I told him that I was surprised as Michael Jackson was the most popular JW who ever lived, and the guy said: "I guess he was at one time." There are several more KHs in the area that I called but nobody answered. Guess they don't have Friday night meetings anymore.

It might be interesting if we all called the local KH and asked when they were planning to have the memorial service for Michael Jackson. Bet that would get them talking.
