i remember about 5 or 6 years ago,they introduced the pioneer-assist program at one of the service meetings.the purpose of of this program was for the spiritually-strong pioneers to go out in service with an r&f member on a weekly basis for about 6 months to help build up others in the congregation.part of this was because in the mid to late 90's a large number of people had become jw's and they wanted to make good publishers with them.. anyways,my wife was quickly signed up as was another young sister down the road.my wife was excited about it and was really hoping to benefit spiritually.within a few weeks though,her pioneer partner started making up excuses why she couldn't go out with my wife until eventually their arrangement just petered out.the young sister down the road was also quickly ditched;the pioneer saying she had to care for her elderly mother(she didn't stop pioneering though).before long the pioneer clique was back to normal and the spiritually-strong pioneers were again going out in service with other spiritually-strong pioneers.i don't recall any updates or the program itself ever mentioned again at the kingdom hall,like it was just a bad experiment or a major burden on the pioneers.. does anyone have any experiences with the pioneer-assist program?
The program is still in effect but no one I know signs up for it.
The "weak" would rather not go out anyway and you quickly learn that service is futile even if you are working with a pioneer. IMO the 'assist' program was a corporate wet-dream that went nowhere.
i went down to the local 7/11 a few miles from my house to by some 7/11 stuff.
as i was standing at the counter i glanced out at my car to see a little cheerleader wannabe girl leaning against it.
she was drinking a slushy type drink talking to her bubble gum little chicky buddies in her mom's new lincoln navigator next to my car.

has anyone here had lucid dreams or oobes?
i've started focusing on remembering my dreams and keeping a dream journal for about 6 months now and have had some groovy experinces.
I haven't consciously experienced an OBE but LDs are my favorite. It is true you can program yourself to sleep "consciously" like IP says. The first night I tryed this I used a Huna style meditation (repeating the order to 'stay aware while sleeping') and then immediately went to bed.
The whole night I was conscious I was in my bed, but was able to manipulate my dreams and actively participate in them. Wow. When I "awoke" I had never felt so rested and energized. I highly recommend this.
You'll find that when you start delving into shared dreams.Let me say that sex is better in spirit, 'nuff said.
if there any single factor that i would rate as the highest priority in raising a child, it is this:.
teach them to be caring, loving adults who care about other people.. we've already noted, ad nauseum, how witnesses are largely impelled by motives other than love in their "ministry".
"pioneer stroll" and fantasies about who's-house-you-want-after-armageddon, there is a further problem in raising witness kids.
Ex-Witness kid may end up worse than his 'worldly' peers because all of his parents advice is tainted by the organization's extremism.
YES YES YES. The programming that goes into JW child minds makes the "STD, unwanted-preg" mantra a sulf fullfilling prophecy. Instead of parents realistically expecting their children to experiment sexually, they keep them in the bubble until it pops (both the bubble and the child).
Does anyone notice the plethora of child articles in the last 3 years. Everyo other W&A has a feature article on it. Proff of JW new territory??

I agree, the comparison of the RCC/printing press and JW/Internet is very apt.
The Reformation undermined the Church's real power = political and judicial power. Of course WTS is very small on the scale of the Reformation, but the same principles apply. WTS holds complete control over its members, with the grave threat of DF hanging over the heads of potential dissenters. WTS is called a "theocracy" with the FDS holding the power of "God" in their actions.
JWD, H20 and other websites are posting facts and declarations on the door step of the WTS, not unlike handbills were posted on the very church doors of the RCC during the Reformation. While splinter groups and liberal JWs will keep the torch lit for years to come, the white-washed grave is about to be opened for all to see.
Even to this day, "Protestants" are proud to call themselves such, even though the term was coined from their reaction to the RCC. Who knows, maybe someday there will be "Apostates" group just as proud of their title.
