Thanks for the link Cygnus...
Kinda reminds me of "Kingdom Melodies meets Depeche Mode" - especially the chorus with that bit of echo...
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to that, thanks!

i was thinking about the kingdom songs we sang as jw's and was wondering about you posters out there that are ex-jw's or still jw's what was you all time favorite "kingdom song" or what was you all time horrible song that we sang from both songbooks (1966 songbook or the later songbook made in 1984 sing praises to jehovah.
my favorite song was song #119 in the 1966 songbook "keep your eyes on the prize".
i like this song because it made me feel that armaggeddon was coming fast and the "new system" would be here to give me the prize.

return visits were what i lived for. i hated door to door, suspense, saying those stupid presentations, asking for money, blech
I know exactly what you mean - I HATED the cold calling
I once did pioneer hours during the school holidays - most of them was made up of return visits with my mom - I could let her do all the work !!!
Bull!
i just went out for only the second time in the last three months since i broke my leg - to socialise - for a meal with a girl i haven't seen for a year.
she kept saying nice stuff about me and how she liked me and so on.
so why do i feel so dreadful and didn't believe her..
Hiya Crumpet !
I remember the sweet young lady you were (although revelations about mike bearing brothers is making me reconsider !)
The short chats we've had since getting back in touch, and reading your posts, have all confirmed to me what a beautifully rounded person you are.
There's nothing wrong with you, my friend!
Now cheer up, or I'll be forced to come down to see you and taunt you on my 'Wing.....! (Any excuse, I know!)
Bull! "The ride is the reason, the destination, an excuse!"

Was just thinking about these the other day when my old songbook turned up at my stepsons house !!
I love the tune to "Keep your Eyes On the Prize" - it has an excellent lilt to it.
I also play a few of them on my piano, simply cos I like the tune... but then again, I also like playing the theme tune to The Excorcist !!
It's funny to look back now - I had marked some of them with a * ... and my put a note in the back "* = Screechers!".. I guess they were the really difficult ones to reach!

hello everyone, i know that many here like me have read ray's book crisis of consience, i was very impressed with it, it helped open my eyes to the hypocrisy and double standards of the wts, and ray gave me the impresion of being a very loving and kind man, not the demonized apostate we were all lead to believe.
but, i noticed something that wasn't quite correct when i was reading the part that spoke of then brother rene vazquez, he makes it seem like all rene did was have private conversations with ray and nothing else, this is not true, i for a fact know that this was not all that happened.
in a ms meeting on tuesday back in 1980, rene was conducting a part and he went up to the stage with only his bible, he started saying that all we needed was the bible, that we would no longer be using other publications by the wts .
IMO, if this is in fact a true representation of what went on, then I think Vasquez chose the best course available at the time. If he had chosen to try to do it quietly, or privately, it would be viewed as if he were trying to coerse, or target weaker ones into wrong thinking. If the WTS got wind of it, they would, without doubt, have attempted to discredit and silence him exactly as you say they did, but then less people would have heard what he had to say - less seeds of doubt would have been sown.
No, he acted in the best way he knew how, and should be commended.
- Just my opinion,

sometimes people do things too me that just rub me up the wrong way... and out comes evil miss peaches....!
i can't help it... this weird evil side of my personality displays itself.
for example if i'm in traffic and someone is tailgating me i deliberately slow down to a couple of kms per hour below the speed limit.
misspeaches:
I did take his toothbrush and scrub around the taps a little last night.... Does that count.I didn't feel very angelic then... I felt positively satisfied though!
It's certainly moving towards the 'self concious vigilante' stage..... I suggest lots of alcohol first, then see if your evil twin can really start to party !!! I'm sure there are lots of other places that the application of a tooth brush to could bring a wicked glint to your eye !! Mwah ha ha!
Suggestions on the back of a post card please....!

some people love their jobs so much, that even if they won a couple of million $ playing lotto, they would still keep their jobs !!!
sounds stupid, right?
but i guess some have wonderful jobs, and money isn't everything.. how about you, what's the minimum you'd need to win to say, good bye boss ?
About £1.50 !!
Bull!
I hate my job...!
