i've been thinking about this a lot lately.
in my experience, jws don't know how to handle joy but they're very willing to get pumped up when there is a crisis.
the whole religion centres around saving people from an impending destruction.
I think there's a bit of a drama queen in all of us.
Active dubs can take it to another level though ! I wonder if it 'affirms their faith' when something seen as a crisis gets resolved through heartfelt prayer, guidance from the WBTS and any 'godcidence' that they attribute to being because they are 'Gods chosen people" Could be one reason for all the melodrama !

she's always been strange to me.

back in 1990, i brought my aunt to the district assembly at the olympic stadium in montreal.
i told her to sit with us, but she didn't want to.
she wanted to sit with a sister her age in another part of the stadium.
I picked LittleToe up by his nipples cos he kept flicking me with his towel in the showers...
... just to clarify - we didn't normally shower together - it was in the public swimming pool communal showers !

back in 1989, i sold my car to a brother less than half price.
it was a 88 sentra worth 11,500$ and i sold it to a brother for $4,500.
i did this because he was a friend, and also because he's the one that brought me into the org.
"Adopted" a sweet old Ukrainian lady that had no family over here, even though I was encouraged to stay away because she had problems with 'demons'.... She'd lived through some pretty traumatic times, including having her own children wrenched away from her by Nazi's and it had left her rather 'eccentric'. One time she said she wished I was her son, and it made me cry for ages.

Some are ok, but others have serious attitude problems. Power corrupts... Absolute power corrupts absolutely!
I also feel for them to a degree - it's a thankless task. They arrest criminals, put em in court, judge lets them out on 'technicalities', people think less of police cos criminals are still at large - and so the circle go's on.
I do think they spend too much time trying to catch motorists out for speeding, rather than concentrating on the criminal element.

does anyone know how much pressure is currently being put on the elderly brothers and sisters to name the witchtower babble and trick society prominently in their wills?
since older ones account for a big chunk of the membership, this could increase their coffers if they convince our parents and grandparents not to be "greedy" and to sign it all over to the worldwide work.
i have heard firsthand of elderly widowed sisters having elders appointed as executors of their estate, to handle will administration and personal affairs for them, along with an attorney-brother giving legal advice as needed.
