strangest/horrifying dream....

last night i had the weirdist dream...i had a dream that i was going to be euthinized.

in my dream i was diagnosised with a brain tumor and somehow my mom had got me to sign a paper that i would agree to get the procedure.

but they were not 100% sure i would die if i did not have it.

They're trying to tell you that you're thinking wrongly (the tumour), but somehow you know your not (no procedure). However, you suspect that they would go as far as harming you about it, but you're not really sure, you can't trust them (who signed the paper?).
Importantly, you know inside they have nothing for you but you can't just get rid of them (time of death known).

I suppose that your boss isn't a jw, so she cries with you, and you can't totally discard some bits of what they say (tubes in me) - and that happened in a place where things are made, work is done, and it's not a comfortable and homely place.

Anyway, how does that sound?

What to you do when you are being shunned?

i used to be quiet around witnesses who were shunning me.

i changed my mind after my dad's funeral a couple of years ago.

i was their alone since i live in a different state; but, i guess everybody still knew who i was because of my mom.

Christian Pacifism

while there has been many arguments in favor of supporting a not so stringent attitude towards pacifism and referring to biblical examples of cornelius and others, i believe that there are very clear scriptural arguments that compel honest christians to not participate in any national war whatsoever.. cornelius example is brought out to show that peter did not demand that cornelius must abandon his military position before accepting his christian faith and anointing of the holy spirit.. 1- the record does not show what cornelius did after his conversion.. 2- we have to remember that after receiving the gift of the holy spirit and being baptized, it is now the operation of the holy spirit and jesus christ that would direct the actions of cornelius from that time onward and not be totally dependant on what peter or others say.. 3- roman soldiers were not used to fight wars only, but they were also used as police force as well to maintain security and order in the territories that they occupied.

cornelius was probably more likely involved in policing duties at the time since there were no wars that are being fought in that area at the time and thus may not have felt compelled to abandon his position.

by the way, this same condition applies to the soldiers that john the baptist admonished.

People greet you wherever you meet them, at the shops, everywhere, and there are many of them who are concerned for you; i.e. your spiritual well-being. The WT crew are Scared about Their spiritual well-being because it's tied up.

Whoever is truly concerned for your well-being, your life, how your doing, is really concerned for your spirituality - not someone who's preoccupied with how you'll go in front of the monster in their own mind.

How do you get beyond the hate? I'm no expert at that. I still carry a warlike disgust of them. Be concerned with helping people, i.e. their life - I know that's a good start.

Spirituality of course has nothing to do with going door to door, and is virtually the opposite of JWism, which is at the forefront of prosperity christianity, a modern American phenomenon - don't you want these conditions? look at this house and farm etc.etc.

They will always be guilty because it can't be earnt, and the only progression from there is into serious wankerism.

ive been visiting this site for about 8 months, just taking in all your comments and the issues that are of importance to those who have been jehovahs witnesses and the problems that you have identified with the religion.

i was brought up in the truth in the 60s and 70s but my parents left before i reached the age when i would consider being baptised.

subsequently my parents divorced but have remarried separately and are both back in the religion.

It seems that you were a JW, from your new direction. For JWs, in fact for all people of various sects, it is very difficult (differing-cult?) to abandon the bonds of time spent to consider it just a learning experience. In all the JW doctrine I have studied, I don't find it truthful (and without Him was nothing made that Was made).

The Faithful and Discreet Slave of the JWs was 'born' at the sanctification of Charles Taze Russell in 1884Tishri, when the greater congregation of Ephesus began.

Russell was a confused guy who stumbled at his brothers deeds, looked around and around, and at pyramids and things not understood by common people, and came up with his own logic, which is founded in condemning christendom - gee, an easy following made there - aren't we better than them? is all he had to say - it's crap with a capital C.
He looked at the writings and, not seeing, he made his own stories up, and he looked at the writings and not, seeing he made his own stories up, and, he looked at the writings not seeing he made his own stories up!

Certainly unless you wake up, I shall come as a thief, and you will not know at all at what hour I shall come upon you.

I think the Catholics were onto something - the doctrines that people came up with freaked them out. I don't think they could bear seeing their fellow men like that. Still, I'm sure God didn't want them to kill over it, but rather, be killed.

JWs are not anointed priests or christian. They are not priests as they have never recieved authority to be or do so, actual or implied. It has not been passed down to them, nor does their understanding in any way reveal divine intervention.

There is simply no way that Christendom’s hundreds of diverse sects could make up any sort of unified spiritual nation.

Not only christians, but people of good will from all religions are a brotherhood. JWs put themselves on the outer of this, and how so? As you have said -

his angels would “collect out of his kingdom all things causing stumbling and all persons doing lawlessness.”

His angels, the poor and needy, cause those who go against the law written on their hearts to gather together outside the kingdom.

This taking “possession of the daughter of a foreign god as a bride” may well be referring to the Watchtower’s hypocritical attachment to the United Nations Organization.

Delusional to the point of requiring medical assistance.

Christ is going to refine his servants through discipline and adversity

His discipline of good deeds, and adversity of bearing fundamentalism (amongst other things).

That explains, by the way, why the growth in the organization has stopped in many countries,

Spirits/Entities - A question for all.

i would like to ask a question if i might: how do ones here view spirits?

(not the alcoholic kind) i have left the org.

now for at least 5 years, although i did go to the memorial last year, but not where i used to go to the hall; i was not df or da.. .

People have generally forgotten that dreams are letters from God, to teach us and heal us, not to humiliate us, but for learning. Although people have marginalised this gift of God, Judeo/christian interpretation of dreams is alive and well - I've recently been to seminars on the topic of dreams in christian spirituality. God speaks to us in dreams, and not like a booming voice or something, but as a teaching, a showing, and the more we read our dreams the better - so pray to God for interpretation.

after listening to an audio tape of the interview given to me by a friend in the area, i thought some of you might find the following example of browns forthrightness interesting.

mcmahon: were looking at the jehovahs witnesses, uh with the help of its national spokesperson j. r. brown, ah, the jehovahs witness office, the director of offices--- the office of public information in brooklyn, new york and theres so many things to talk about particularly clearing up some areas of confusion, uh curiosity.

Problem with fundamentalist

the problem with fundamentalist is that they think that their salvation is at stake either they act to change the world or face the consequences.

they think that their sky god will punish them for another persons actions.. freedom of thought.

freedom to live as one sees fit.

Fundamentalists?

They'll go against what they personally 'know' to be truthful, kinda like a paranoid person. The world is six thousand years old etc. It puts off the non-believer who knows perfectly well that it's crap.

By not listening to what is the kindest side of themselves, they screw themselves up as well as others, not agreeing with themselves. A yes that is no comes from confusion. The Spirit (God within), the water (knowledge) and the blood (forgiveness), are in agreement in the christian.

As fundamentalists, JWs marginalise the Spirit, relying on themselves - christians do the opposite.
