Many
muslims while they wouldnt blow anyone up are sympathetic to the radical people in Islam.
ever since 911 and the subsequent attacks in bali, madrid, and london it seems that everyone feels they have a licence to criticise islam (they do).
fundamentalist and many mainstream christians deride the backwardness of a religion that creates suicide bombers and 'honour' killers.
of course, it was only a small group of hardcore islamist extremists that carried out these attacks but the whole community has been tarred by them, and perhaps in some sense it is only right that the majority of 'reasonable' and peaceful muslims do accept the part they play in providing the soil for these people to grow in.

last night on the news it was mentioned that he was not allowed to film in germany because he was a member.
of a cult " scientelogy" and it was nothing but a money making organization.. the question is why would they pick on them and not on the jw's knowing that their doctrines are harmful.
to its members, such as the blood issue and df member and deviding families?.
I just heard on the news that the reason the Germans are so sensitive about Scientology is because Scientology promotes an authoritan style state in the future.similar to Nazism.
i could never get my head around the fact that people fall inlove over the net.
it just seemed impossible to me.
but now that i have been posting here for a while a totaly understand.
Am i invited too Mrs Smith ? Im fuzzy but its cold over here.
a gem from barbara anderson:.

millerite adventism and fred franz.
Im supprised at the DD reference ' dump dogs' ive allways beleived Milller was a preacher of the baptist church until the day he died. Maybe he wasnt ordained.
can we consolidate a comprehensive thread on what beliefs the dubs ripped off, ahem co-opted from the adventists.
i believe the birthdays and some of the end-times speculation came from them.
i've been interested in seeing how much of an influence they have been.
Gday Blackman,
Im the SDA here so maybe I can answer some of youre questions.
Arianism came through the Adventist movement and to this day some SDAs are still Arian. When Walter Martin studied Adventism in the 50s he found to his amazement that on official church papers both Arianiam and the Trinity were taught of course the Trinity doctrine is the official one taught by the SDA church.
It should be remembered that to the lead up to the great dissapointement in 1844 the Milleriterites were diverse in their beleifs and they had a wide range of beleifs because tehy came from other churches and were members of different churches while still holding to Millers idears
The SDAs have birthday partys just just like the majority of the people out their.
The SDAs use historicism to interpret last day evens just as the JWs do. In SDA circles there has been a reaction against historicism because of its 19th century connection and the beleife there are just much better interpretations available. The only other church useing the historicist method is the worldwide church of god.
SDAs together with the christadelphians and JWs all beleive in soul sleep but all SDAs [the great crowd ] go to heaven with the 144000 Jehovahs witnesses.
i've always wondered about this, especially recently.
i've always contended that they were real and ignored the conspiracy theories.
but if they were real, why hasn't nasa been able to send a man to the moon since the 1970s?
The pictures of them landing on the moon were taken from inside the lunar module and the pictures of the m taking off from the moon were taken from a camera left on the lunar surface and beamed to earth via the command module orbiting the moon.
the wts says that the key date in the jews return from babylon is tishri 1 537 bce.. the wts uses that date to arrive at its incorrect date of 607 bce for the destruction of jerusalem.
in turn, its 607 bce date is used to provide the date of october 1914 ce for christs parousia and the setting up of gods kingdom government.
the wts claims to be the sole representative upon earth of gods kingdom.. the date of the jews return is thus crucial to the watchtower societys (wts) existence and authority.
Scholar,
As Doug Mason asks you, why can you converse with apostates while other witnesses shake in their boots at the thought of being disfellowshiped and being separated from family and friends?. We would all like to know here on this forum. Also you might like to tell me why my exwife after studying with the witnesses shook with fear when she visited my church?
Such questions dont need to be answered in private and are not impertinent to normal people. My church doesnt tell me not to worship in another church or who not to talk to.
good morning and "happy sunday everyone!!.
yesterday our family (grandparents, grandkids, aunts, uncles) all went for a two hour drive for a picnic and all day fossil dig.
(sorry, i cannot tell you where, as it would probably reviel who i am to the trolls on this forum.
While God has been a physist for 15 billion years he has only been a theologin for six thousand years. Anyway that was the explaination of a delegate at a creation science conference held by the SDA church.
several conversations with current jw's have thrown up this validation of their faith.
i can think of several lines of refutation: .
1 - ask 'is increase proof of gods blessing?
steve2 the figure of 14 million is in the Wilkipedia but I beleive the JW membership is slightly higher in the US than the SDAs.
I beleive the penticostal groups would have the fastest growth of all.
it just struck me that a lot of what we post comes under "you couldn't make it up"!
so my questions to those of you that aren't jw's or partnered with one - why do you continue to come here, does it entertain/surprise/inform you?
if you knew no jehovah's witnesses would you still be interested?
As a non JW the thing that amazes me the most is, How the WT has so much power and how do they get away with what they do to people?
Ive been effected by the WT myself my first wife studied with the JWs but didnt become one and I also studied with them.
Im a 7th Day Adventist which is a strict religion but it pales in comparison the the JW religion. My SDA pastor even came to the memorial with me when I was invited to come by a JW
Also my initial purpose in coming here was to find any developements in the JWs since the time I studied with them. I felt there would be because of the internet and the greater flow of information we all see in these times but to my amazement there is no progress at all. The JW religion must be the perfect model for cultists the world over. Barry
