  i've had the same queen size bed for about six years.

  after putting "quite a few miles" very uncomfortable.

  last week, after too many sleepless nights and waking up with back aches i ordered a new king size sealy posturepedic (the kind with a thick comfort pillow layer .

  1) why does the wts insist on claiming that elders are appointed under holy spirit, when it's been proven that they have been guilty of so-called unchristian behaviors?

  2) can you prove that they are appointed by holy spirit?.

  I was an elder for several years; I was under the mistaken impression that the Watchtower Society ? Governing Body ? wanted spiritual minded brothers who exhibited kindness and forgiveness. Stupid me, they wanted Corporate dummies that went along with the party line. You know, I have been treated much better in the ?real? corporate world than I ever was in the ?loving brother-hood? of the ?spiritual world? of the followers of men, Jehovah?s Witnesses. Berean

  How would a JW handle this? 587 proved correct date for fall of Jerusalem

  so i put it out to you who believe the wtbts is the agent used by god's channel on earth based on the belief that in 1919 (3 1/2 years after the gentile times ended in 1914, per pastor russell) they were appointed the fds.. what if it was proved that not 607, but 587 was the date jerusalem was destroyed?

  would that affect your faith?

  would it matter that the teaching of 1919 turned out to be false?

  Can you believe this?

  even i am pretty shocked at this one... .

  my daughter who is 20 years old and df'd for about 2 years now is attending meetings again.

  but yesterday she tells me that she didn't feel like going to the meeting and that her mom probably wouldn't even know that she wasn't there.

  There were no rules that said the df'ed woman could not sit by her mother during the meeting as of a couple of years ago (when I gave up on the man-made-rules of the ones that have set themselves up as ?God's? in this system of things). If someone said something about to her, it was a personal opinion/rule that that person or BOE made up.

  Also, df'ed persons are not relegated to the back row, they can sit anywhere. If that was a rule then once again that was a personal opinion/rule that that person or BOE made up. Sometimes it is suggested they sit in the back rows if the df'ed person feels uncomfortable setting toward the front, however,it would be up to them.

  The system that the "Society" has constructed is conducive to abuse by over zealous and hardnosed people; people that feel free to pass judgment on others although that is forbidden to true Christians. There lies the problem with an authoritarian religion ? a multitude of man-made-rules start to appear, and they never stop adding to the rules.

  I would agree with his statement. I have deep depression and have been trying to control it for some time now under the care of a doctor. Several in the congregation took it upon themselves to diagnose it as spiritual weakness - "poor brother 'Berean' he is so depressed because he is spiritually weak, he needs to be built up by being encouraged to be doing more in field service, bang on more doors, do more for the congregation and others, blah blah blah." What I needed was a break and to be left the freaking hell alone.

  If you understood depression you would know that the CO's statement was correct. If, however, you are saying very high stress to be spiritual is causing some sort of problem that may aggravate depression there may be room for discussion. Berean

  as you may know, there are ones at the top of the organization that stand accused of pedophilia, etc.

  as i remember, both greenlees and chitty have been exposed as such.. now there are accusations that ted jaracz is also.. ask yourself something: how did jaracz get to be at the top of a "christian" organization when almost nothing about his personality reflects anything that is christian?

  which of the fruitages of the spirit could you associate with his conduct?.

  All I have seen here are a lot of accusations thrown out without any proof. Then statements alluding to all the previous accusations and that in effect say, "where there is smoke there is fire."

  i just saw this movie john q. with denzel washington, and it is a great movie.

  the subject is about health care or lack of,,, and the need for organ donations.

  i have always felt strongly about this and this movie really made me think about doing something instead of just saying it.

  My Girlfriend Admitted Adultery, Is she still a JW

  i've been dating a woman who is a jw and is currently going through a divorce from an abusive relationship.  she has admitted adultery (stupid) though there was never any proof.  she did mention something about excommunticated, but it's difficult to get answers from her because she doesn't want to talk about it.  that is probably because i'm atheist, and obviously her views are opposite of mine.  but i'm having trouble getting a straight answer from anyone at this point.  if she is excommunicated is she still a jw?  any help would be greatly appreciated.  thanks.

  If the elders find out about her dating you she will be df'ed. They will reason that It doesn't show a "repentant attitude" to be married and dating. If she is being abused she can leave her husband, but not date other men.

  There is obvious evidence of UFO activity on Earth but there is clearly contrived cover-up by a government conspiracy to detract attention from the very real presence of aliens RIGHT HERE ON EARTH. You can see evidence of this everywhere. The government is attempting to cover this up by claiming that Gutzon Borglum, AN OBSCURE ARTIST WITH AN ALIEN SOUNDING NAME, carved this mountain. Clearly, such a work is actually an attempt to communicate with humans through the medium of the environment, demonstrating HOW MUCH ALIENS CARE about the Earth and wanting to protect it.

  Number one thing was time banging on doors, not just return visits. Had to be at least congregation or national average, whichever was greater. Then qualifications in Scriptures were considered.
