Why don't you have a look-see at what Shadow posted? At least he tried to answer the questions scripturally. Faithful Christians can base their beliefs on Scripture with anyone, even Satan himself, without fear of casting pearls before swine. Christ did, and who is it that you imitate again?

I understand your argument. However, my chief concern is not over trifles such as the one you raised. My chief concern is that every dedicated and baptized witness since 1985 has had to answer a question in the affirmative that no dedicated and baptized witness I have ever asked has ever been able to prove the basis for scripturally. Even using the NWT. Teachings that cannot be proven by Scripture are, according to JW dogma, false. (Acts 17:10,11)
" Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah?s Witnesses in association with God?s spirit-directed organization? "
I have seen no evidence of the existence of such a spirit-directed organization in the scriptures. I will PM you the old questions and the new questions.

i never did become a jw but i did associate with them for a few years by attending meetings, going house to house, and all that fun stuff.
anyway, i have so much in my mind that i cannot possibly say in one post.
basically i saw/heard many things during my association with jw that i just didn't agree with or just made me wonder if they were truly teaching the "truth", which i have recently come to the conclusion that there is no truth.

I empathize completely. After I faded the first time (15 years ago) I found out what "friend" means. It hurts badly. Becoming bitter would have been an easy reaction for me, especially given the awful slanderous things most of my old "friends" had to say about me. I decided to learn from it instead. It was really a conscious decision to approach it that way. I learned what a friend is not and now I know what loyalty means.
It takes time. I still hurt from some things that have been done. I wish I were a bigger man, but I'm not. I've felt like certain people were going out of their way to piss on who and what I am. My instinct is to react like that is what they have done. Maybe in your case, it is just a lot of deluded very well-meaning people. That can be tougher in some ways. In time you will feel the pain less, especially if you can fill the void with good friends, friends who know how to be true friends.

the tricky thing is that the fds (whoever they are) won't approve this change while they're still alive.
they don't care, they subconsciously feel it's their end anyway and they won't undermine their doctrinal position having lost all corporate power.. so who will send this beam of new light?
Pole: But... They'll have to change one more doctrine. They currently believe that in the final days of the great tribulation - just before Armageddon the Gog of Magog will attack the annointed remnant, thus confirming the identity of the only true religion.
I would have agreed with you a few months ago, but they have changed who the "flesh" in Matthew 24 is (as in "no flesh will be saved"). They used to apply it to the remnant only, as part of the body of Christ. Now they apply it to all living servants of Jehovah. The stage is set for sweeping changed understanding. This new flesh will probably become who Gog of Magog attacks, the references that tie the two together are many.
Ever notice how those who are awake know more about what they are up to than most Witnesses?

I feel the same toward dogmatism in a book as I feel toward dogmatism from a person. I personally question it thoroughly to discern whether there is basis. In my experience, there rarely is basis for any dogmatism.
On the other hand, you justify your personal dogmatism while condeming the dogmatism of a book. In my opinion, that is hypocritical. I hope your opinion differs from mine, otherwise you also think your comments in this thread are hypocritical.
