Man am I bummed....
by upside/down injust got off the phone with my brother who lives in socal (nondub) and was informed that my dad just had a stroke!.
he's my "dad", not the sperm donor that helped concieve me and my brother than abandoned us so he could "find himself".
he's 74, very intelligent old school retired ex marine, that served in the korean war.

in the past i have typically avoided these sites because most people on them seem newly bitter and i didn't like the tone.
i was raised a witness by an alcoholic father and an abusive stepmother.

I agree with you entirely on this Rwagnor. I have a friend who works out at my gym and he is in great shape.. always positive and loving life. The dude is an example for the rest of us in being greatful for what you have and overcoming problems to come out on top.

Memorial Alternative
by GetBusyLiving inhey what do you guys think of starting up like a thread on the night of the memorial to just relate reasons why we are happy to have left the organization and things we are greatful for?
this is going to be the first year for me in not attending the memorial and i think it might be sort of strange.
believers and unbelievers alike still have reasons to be grateful and i think this could be a nice little tradition every year here at jwd.
