Fairy tales - unsuspected effects on children?
by Spectrum ina couple of years ago there was an article on tv discussing the possible negative effects that that fairy tales can have on children especially girls.
i don't remember it very well but basically they were saying that fairy tales, especially the ones that involve beautiful girls or princesses, put unnecessary pressure on little girls from a very young age to have to look pretty if they are going to get their prince charming or do well in general in real life.
it makes sense because it seems to fall under the category of conditioning and it's easy to condition children.

Yes, I think that fairy tales have a profound influence on children. Although I am 43 now, I still remember a lot of the fairy tales. As a kid, I was practically addicted to them, and I remember how I often identified with some of the characters. But then, we need to understand that a LOT of things influence kids. So I don't think that one should reconsider the use of fairy tales.

How many of you get today as a holiday?

but mozz is off today and monday for new years!
so we get another four-day weekend together.

I only work 1 day a week this winter, so I have much time off. But I was asked to work both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, so I eagerly accepted. Then today (Friday) the phone rang, it was my boss. He told me to look out of the kitchen window. I did and his car was parked in my driveway. I asked what he was doing in my driverway, and he asked.. how soon can you be ready for work? That was a great surprise, now I got to work today as well.

we observed her with the other puppies for 2 hrs.

i'm trying to sneak away quietly from the wtbs so maybe i can keep my family and friends, though i know im only dreaming really.
i gave up acting a few months ago and quit going to the meetings, because i just couldnt sit through anymore.

As we were walking back to the truck, the subject of new years came up and whether jws celebrate it or not. After I could no longer listen to anymore bullshit under the guise of the bible, I went on a 15 minute rant and did everything short of saying that apostacy was for me. One of the more colorful aspects to my personality is I just cant seem to keep my mouth shut when I hear BS being piled high and deep.
Look at the bright side.. you might have opened their eyes to the real truth!

There are lots of hurt feelings in people's hearts. The roots? A publishing company that says they are God's mouthpiece on earth. Unlike other publishing companies, they butt into people's lives and rip families apart. Yes, such creates hard feelings, wouldn't you think so?

I wanted to have a huge vegetable garden and I was also planning on planting an orchard. It wouldn't matter how long it would take to get the first fruits, because I'd live forever anyways.
Losing my belief in paradise was the worst part of leaving the org.

Ready for 2005 to be OVER! 2006 resolutions...
by wanderlustguy inthis year has sucked like a hoover for me.
i'm so ready for it to be over...2006 has to be better.
here's my resolutions so far.... get in better shape (something other than round).. spend more time with my kids.. grow the business i'm a partner in.. purchase some property in/near asheville, nc.. how about you?
