I wish to have a Requiem Mass with black vestments and everything. I think that would actually keep away the JWs.

are young children still being

Last time I can remember (middle-nineties), yes there was the kind of beating that made kids cry right in the KH. Except I was in an interesting congregation, we had a mix of rich "liberals" (what you might call JW moderate) and poorer "conservatives" (the kind that would beat their kids). Really sad.

WT redefines the Beast, and 666!
by little witch inforgive me if this is old news, but i just found it on the "official" site.

I actually remember seeing something about the UN not being the beast in the Daniel book. Instead of saying "the UN" it said something like "the member nations of the UN."

What is the GB tellin us?
by IP_SEC ini?ve been reading some posts about the future of the whole governing body and fds doctrines and have come to notice something.. it seems like recently the literature has been focusing more on personal bible reading and understanding.
oh they still spew crap about how great the publications of the fds are, but i notice a little bit of a trend away from that.
for example: the bible reading highlights on the school.

They will always find new people to fill in the empty spaces in the GB when they start dying off. I actually once saw an old chart that showed the hierarchy, it was like:
Jehovah
Jesus
Faithful and Discreet Slaves
CO
Elder
MS
etc... I probably missed something.

At what hour was Jesus Crucified?
by gumby inmark 15:25 ......and it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
john 19:13-14 when pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the pavement, but in the hebrew, gabbatha.
and it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the jews, behold your king!

5 [14] Noon: Mark 15:25 has Jesus crucified "at the third hour," which means either 9 A.M. or the period from 9 to 12. Noon, the time when, according to John, Jesus was sentenced to death, was the hour at which the priests began to slaughter Passover lambs in the temple; see John 1:29. (USCCB - NAB notes)

What are you giving up for Lent?
by Sweetp0985 ini think i'm gonna do away with meat for this time period.
beef, chicken, and pork are gonna be no-no's for me until easter.
gonna help my body healthwise too.

The similarity would be in the fact that back then, they memorized large parts of scripture and transliterated.
Here's another related scripture: And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. (Matthew 9:15, KJV).

Some JWs Are "In The Closet"
by minimus inby that, i mean, some witnesses will not just now "out" themselves because of various fears and concerns.
some of us are still "in the closet".
so to speak, because we're not ready to expose ourselves to the "loving brothers", just yet---at least not 100 %.
-
the_classicist
100%... I know this to be irrefutably true because I joined another religion. After that, most JWs don't consider you a person.

I don't think so either, but I watch far too much TV, so it would be good for me and give me more time for studying, eh .
