Jaredg, that is the best thing for her and you. My situation is reversed. I'm DA'd and my son is 8 and a loyal dub prospect. His mother influences him as bad as the Jw dogma. Never give up hope because eventually she will respond in a positive way to the love bombing and maybe start thinking how screwed up and so contrary to Jesus' teachings the GB and WTBTS are.

is it that it's all a joke, a smokescreen?

The truth about the truth is that it's fantasy, untrue. The Witnesses get you to give up your life and follow their views as if they were speaking for God Himself. We've been duped!!

Is it getting warm in here or is it just me?

lately, it seems to be that people are on edge and are forgetting common courtesy in their posts.

people have told me that they were thinking of un-subscribing or at least taking a long break from the board due to people who take their negative opinion of the subject or opinion being discussed, and turn it into a personal attack.. what is happening here?

any idea why this sudden spike in overbearing rude people posting here?

apostate literature - i have read the lot.

you name it - c of c, gentile times reconsidered, thirty tears a watchtower slave, the orwellian world of jehovah's witness, apocalypse delayed, and the freeminds and watchtower observer sites, so on and so on.

and i have been reading the posts on this site regularly pretty much since it started, and hourglass before it.

Apostates on this site pretty much admit that one main reason they left was because they did not want to live up to Bible standards (please don't eat me alive for saying this - it is true)

The UN thing - so what if the Witnesses joined the UN, what's the big deal?

I did not leave the WTBTS because I don't want to live up to bible standards. Quite the contrary, I left because I asked 2 elders what the consequences would be if I had joined the UN as an NGO. After they sat in utter silence for a couple of minutes, they asked me if I believed the Governing Body is the FDS. I then quoted the "Pay Attention to Yourselves and to All the Flock" manual regarding disassociation offenses and then asked the original question again. Again, the same question was asked about my belief regarding the GB as the FDS. Once again I asked the original question and told them that if they could not answer the question then I would have to assume that I would be considered spiritually strong and I was going to join the YMCA and the closest Baptist church in the area and they had better not announce that I had DA'd from the JW's. The elders finally agreed that it would not be proper so I then told them if they didn't stop believing the GB and take their families and run as fast and as far as they could away from the apostate WTBTS they were all a bunch of lying apostate hypocrites. They are still serving the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses and I am free from all those lying hypocrites. .

Are you going to continue denying Christ by letting the WTBTS and JW's Governing Body be your mediator instead of Him? What are you going to do at the gnostic ritual the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses call 'the memorial'? Will you along with almost 12 million other attendees deny the Christ as your saviour?

here's my question: if the faithful and discreet slave is a messenger for truth why is the only mention of them in the bible in the form of a parable?

why only one time(in two parallel accounts)?

let's start when this wild assertion began and see where it ends up.. 1918, rutherford gives a world-wide public lecture-"millions now living will never die!".

So the GB puts this artificial fear in the minds of JWs that after death there is nothing. You're just dead. No heaven, no hell. Then they create an equally artificial solution to put fear at bay: Millions Now Living Will Never Die?. Problem solved. Until they all start dying anyway, without realizing that it was all smoke and mirrors all along.

They may realise it but, by then it will be too late to start over again for "Millions Now Living."

judging from yesterdays article for the watchtower study, and the corny questions, ie.

Only a complete numbskull, to start with, could come up with the date of 607 BCE from the measurements of a pyramid to fit his theory and then mess up the lives of millions of other numbskulls (as some of us WERE).

It's no small wonder the Governing Body forbids Joe Hoba's Anal Witnesses from talking with apostates or reading any outside literature. They might wake up and see how convinced they really are.
