The late Ron Wyatt (an amateur archaeologist who claimed to have discovered all sorts of artifacts that feature in the Bible) said he actually uncovered Jesus' crucifixion site and found a deep crack in the rock beneath still containing dried blood. Upon analyzing the blood back at the lab, he was shocked amazed and bewildered to discover that it contained a total of only 24 chromosomes - 23 from the mother and one Y chromosome. So according to Ron, Jesus would have been basically like a clone of Mary but with male characteristics.

From what I've learned recently (from Islamic sources, no less), apparently old 'Hammy-Boy' took a nine-year-old girl as a wife in his old age...

What will JW's be like when...

Remember, the elders & CO's etc are going to be ruling as princes in the new system. I foresee more emphasis on that in future and possibly a whole new breed of super-princes at the top, so visible authority figureheads can remain after the last of the anointed fail to hand in their reports.

What Is the Conventions About?
by Broken Hearted incan someone tell me what the purpose of the conventions are and what does on at them?
trying to still research this religion and understand more from the outside.
-

Apart from the length and number of attendees, the main difference I've noticed between conventions and regular meetings is that the talks seem to be scripted almost word for word, and most of the speakers read them with an annoying inflection similar to Reverend Lovejoy from the Simpsons.

What does 'accurate knowledge' have to do with worship and praise?
by AK - Jeff innot that the jdubs have the 'accurate knowledge' anyway.
but it seems to me that if i was the creator i would appreciate all who showed appreciation in song and word, no matter the level of accuracy.
just what the hell does that have to do with praising god when you think of it?.
-

I cannot imagine God saying to the singers of such "You are consigned to everlasting death due to the inaccurate nature of some of the lyrics".
"Now... can any of you JW's tell me what type of wood the stake was made from? No? Well I'm sorry but your level of knowledge just isn't accurate enough. Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels."

truly I tell you today
by moomanchu in1. truly i tell you today,.
today you will be with me in paradise.
doesn't #1 sound like yesterday jesus wasn't telling the truth .

I don't think they emphasize the "truly I tell you today" in order to prove the earthly paradise, I think it's more a case of having to eliminate the other possible reading which contradicts that idea. -

Who's up for some fun?
by Inquisitor inshake things up a bit in your friendly local congregation of jehovah's witnesses by partaking of their memorial emblems this april 12!
when drinking the wine (i don't think you'd get to eating the bread if you carry this first part out), make sensual, sinful sounds of ecstasy!
better yet, noisily gulp down the whole glass of wine and top it with a little burp!

by AK - Jeff ini just returned from 18 holes of golf as the phone rang.. caller; hi jeff, this is bruce elder, how are you doing?.
me; hello bruce.
bruce; well [very nervous sounding voice now], i have kevin holierthanthou on the other line.

Deal with them the same way as you'd deal with a telemarketer calling your home trying to sell you insurance.
"Sure Bruce, I agree we really do need to talk. Oh wait, can you hold on just a minute, I need to go get a pen. Thanks, I'll just be a sec..."
...and then go off to play another 18 holes.

Ray Franz WT article on sacred service
by truth_about_the_truth inin his book "in search of christian freedom", ray said that he once wrote an article in the wt when he was a member of the gb regarding sacred service.
the points he brought out were unlike anything the wt ever published in the past.
in the article, he stated that sacred service did not merely mean going out in field service but other things such as helping others in need, doing good things for people whether they are witnesses or not, etc.

From that point forward they kept putting "part of our sacred service" when referring to preaching or other stuff.
Reminds me of the phrase "Part of your complete breakfast!" (Maybe they could put that on the cover of the daily text?)
