i was baptized in early 90s and live in eastern europe.. from your comments i noticed, that some time in the past jws had a problem with smurfs... like being afraid of or avoiding ... i never heard anything about that in my dub life... .

so is there some story behind that?

did you play with smurfs as kids?

I heard the Smurf story as a kid too, back in the early 80's. Toy Smurf gets up in the middle of a meeting, grumbles something about how he can't smurfing stand any more of this smurfing smurf, and walks out of the hall.
My parents thought the whole thing was ridiculous and never banned me from having toy smufs, even after an "anointed" sister wouldn't allow one of my Smurf colouring-in books into her house when we visited her family one time.

The WTS depicts Armageddon as a selective destruction of only wicked people.
Check out the picture on page 209 of "From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained" - there's a dog falling into the abyss along with all the sinners.

i always heard armageddon would be a spiritual battle.. some people seem to think it will be some natural disaster.. jws seem to think it will be the very hand of god throwing lightening bolts.. .

is armageddon the same as "day of jehovah"?.

is armageddon when apostates of all religions become loud enough to overthrow the liars?.

Well most of those things are meant to be caused directly by God in a controlled manner so as to kill specific people and protect others, so they wouldn't be natural disasters exactly.

Armageddon is usually depicted in the literature as taking all sorts of physical forms simultaneously. Floods, fire, meteorites, earthquakes, people rioting and killing each other, buildings toppling over, thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening.
And they believe it will be selective. Those on the Prince of Peace's hit list will include all non-JWs, JWs who weren't quite zealous enough, and (if you believe an elder I once heard at a meeting) even good JWs who forgot to hand in their report that month.

there is some speculation that he did.. i think i read somewhere that adam's bones were used to divide the quarters between males and females.. were the animals segregated as well as the humans?.

i don't know.. any takers?.

There are various traditions that the bones of Adam and Eve are in the cave of Machpelah. For the remains to still be around, how could they NOT have been aboard the ark?

An Australian TV interviewer called Andrew Denton was once talking to bankrupt businessman whose name escapes me at the moment, and asked him about the private jet he gets around in despite supposedly having no money. The guy said "It's not my plane, it's the company's." Andrew replied "Does anyone ever say you can't use it?"

Well the bit about God's Kingdom getting rid of those who oppress their fellowman is basically the good news that Jesus taught. The kingdom of the heavens is at hand, blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth, and all that. Matthew 5.
But I don't know how the JW version of that is meant to comfort "all people", when their belief is that all those people (oppressors and oppressees alike) are going to be destroyed for not being JWs!
I'm not sure I'd accuse them of oppressing anyone but themselves, but on the other hand declaring everyone except themselves to be wicked and worldly doesn't sound very meek to me.
