  National Dean's List.

  i was just nominated to the national dean's list.

  i know that there are a lot of other college students and college graduates here, anybody ever been on it?

  did it help your career, or is it just a waste of time?.

  I made it twice but couldn't afford the book as a struggling student. Didn't seem to mean much except I had my choices of grad schools, again to which I couldn't afford to attend at the time. carmel

  first of all thanks for the reactions to my first post.

  very kind of you.. i've been struggling with the following question the last few months.

  'they' are absolutely sure they have chosen their own beliefs, have researched it themselves, are thinking for themselves, and that the organization is just the whole lot of people like them.

  ive been "in the truth" ever since i was 6 years old when my mother was baptised in the late 70`s.

  so i sort of got dragged along to the meetings and therin started the indoctrination that was to prove to be my undoing.

  ive been reading this page for a while now and read some very slick posts from dissillusioned ex members.

  I do a lot of salmon, the real kind! Mostly I grill it on the barby after marionating it over night. The last couple of times, however, I've taken to placing two whole fillets in tinfoil, skin side down. Coat the entire fillets with a quarter inch or more of pesto. Fold up the sides of the foil and close the lid. Set on midium, they should be done in 20 to 25 minutes, depending upon how thick the fillets were. These are big chinook salmon so one fillet will feed a dozen or more healthy eaters.. carmel

  Need Advice - Anyone in a divided (faith) household?

  if anyone else out there is in a divided faith household, may i ask how it affects your relationship?

  i am sorting trying to figure things out within my marriage as far as faith issues.

  Lil, Sounds to me like a tad bit of fanaticism laced with a sprinkling of denial. Sounds harsh, but you seem to equate going to church with being "spiritual" and you've somehow got your husband to buy into the same idea and he's feeling guilty. Hmmmm, wonder if a new paradigm isn't in order. I think Mary pretty much expressed my feelings. You may not be "preaching" but the fact you feel you have to pray for him reveals your reality. You really need him to believe and behave as you do so it will somehow validate you. He is an independent agent, responsible for his own spiritual growth and development. I'd bet he's a heck of a lot more spiritual than most the folks that darken the door way of church. Being religious is no guarantee of being spiritual.. carmel

  i believe by putting good thoughts out there....helps them come true.

  Back after 3 months

  hi and wishing you all a happy new year though somewhat belatedly.

  i am glad to be back after 3 months, i had no internet connection for most of that time, but as from yesterday i have one at home, and i see that most of the familiar names, as well as some new ones, are still posting here.

  all is going well there is a lot of work, i acquired a powerful network of friends, lost a lot of weight since last june 20kg (44lb) to be exact, and i moved into a new better home.

  I'm thinking back to the early 1990's when someone offered me stock in a silly idea called "cell phones". Don't remember the company, but had I used that $35000 I spent on a fishing boat on cell phone stocks....... Oh, well, all's well that ends well. carmel
