The other main theme is college is bad. The drama is basically about how college is not a 'wise choice'. More fs is always best. And don't forget to have the 'no regret' interviews.
The people getting dunked have given up having Jesus being their mediator, they now have the 144,000 and of course the elders and such. They are now baptized in the name of the org, not only the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. (did they even leave the Holy Spirit in there?)
The people going to the dc's could be considered 'spiritually weak' if they- do not stay at approved hotels, eat out instead of packing their own food, even if it's 95 degrees out not wearing nylons and appropriate shoes, suit coats & ties a must. The list I'm sure goes on.
Repetetive words are par for the course, and most jw's will never even notice. Blaming the rank & file for any problems they may have in their life. Causes? not enough field service.
As 'godly' as they like to think they are, the dc's are for some a meatmarket of sorts. Vanity is the real issue of the day for many. (I hear they no longer cover the mirrors in the ladies bathrooms, I guess they once did this)
Thinking the elders are somehow 'special' and must be obeyed even if you know they are wrong or really immoral persons. carla

by wanderlustguy inhe got to the number one answer about challenging information pretty darn quick...my e-mail i sent to him is at the bottom, this was his response...i sent it because he stated we know the org is jehovahs only because of their stand in the first world war...which he then refuted with the article from the watchtower below.. .
this statement is probly one of the ones that cause jehovah's disfavor and landed them in jail 1918/1919.
you ought to have fun with this article.

How silly, I must send that to a friend. True jw story, recently happened- my friend gets the knock on the door, she was just in a bathtowel, tells the sisters that now is not a good time and that she feels she is saved and does not believe any of jw doctrine, lets agree to disagree, have a good day. She finishes shower & getting ready. Looks out her driveway & the ambulance is there! The older sister somehow got her dress caught under the car or something and broke her shoulder, the younger sister kind of ran her over (?) My friend comes out to see what's going on in her driveway and asks if she could pray for the woman. No comment, just glares. She truly meant it though, not to be mean. She asks me if she's not allowed to pray for them?! good grief. Maybe more service is needed for a complete healing! carla

Another new cult? Horizontal hey? must I sleep? I think my husband should join this one, he's much better suited to it. The reason I asked about the pork is cause I have a family member (in law) that wouldn't eat pork. I think he does now though and has no affiliation with any church. However, I may ask help of family members in trying to get husband out of jw. This relative would never tell anybody just what he belonged to. I'm not sure how to go about even talking to him as I have suspicions that it must have been somewhat cult like. To this day (20yrs later) he still has never mentioned his previous 'religion'. I can see he doesn't want to talk about it so I have never asked again. And his wife never told anyone either. Maybe she promised not to? It was when he was growing up before they knew each other. Worried about what his response to all of this may be. thanks for the info, carla
