  The tracts were delivered to the 'public' here - invites to the assembly which is 50 miles away. Lol - like any member of the public would travel that far, when they won't even drive one mile to local KH.

  r. f. wondered how many lurkers there are on the board.

  i don't know the answer, but i will admit that i since a few years am one of them.

  i read here almost every day.. like many others here i am an ex-jw, left the organisation about 25 years ago and never regretted it.. .

  Adam & Eve question???

  one of my workmates just asked or stated...why did eve have to have a rib from adam and all of the the other animals were just created?

  I was discussing this with someone over the weekend. Women and men have the same amount of ribs, but there is a suggestion that what God actually took from Adam to create Eve was his penis bone (baculum). This actually makes sense, as most mammals still have one. I believe also there is no word in Ancient Hebrew for 'Penis'

  Birthdays and Job

  the societys stance on birthdays is either blatantly a lie, or a lack of bible knowledge on the part of the governing body!

  while still attending at the kingdom hall i read job 1:4 where jobs childreneach had celebrations in his own day.

  then read in job after his kids died and all his possession were lost where job cursed his own day.

  Even when I was a dub, I could never understand the reasoning behind not celebrating Birthdays, yet I obviously complied. The reasoning I've been told is that as Jesus never celebrated his birthday, then why should we. I actually have very mixed feelings about my own Birthday now.

  i am an inactive jw who has 3 sons left in the religon.

  my oldest son has been baptized for4 years and has recently married again.

  he gets his son every other weekend.

  This must be a worry for you. There is a difference between 'parental control' and 'common assault'. Your grandson himself could make a complaint to the police and they would be obliged to take photos for evidence, surely.

  i googled that name and found a trust fund that is named after her.

  i also found the tax returns for 2005,2004,2003 for that fund.

  the riley trust funds largest revenue is oil and gas royalties and in 2005 over 3 million dollars of oil and gas royalties flowed into the riley trust fund.

  this one is the best.. this is an experience from one of our sisters from athens spanish that went to italy and greece to serve.

  she relates this experience that i thought was really interesting.

  You should have warned me I needed to sit on a rubber sheet - nearly wet myself laughing! Even if thr rub-a-dubs believe such crap, haven't they the ability to 'REASON' that the friend's son has paid for his sins upon death and thus guaranteed a resurrection?!
