  I go with ven a wasa - purple and that funny sea colour.

  Farkel, you are right about white - it is all the colours of the visible light spectrum - that is why we get rainbows, white light being split up in the prism of the raindrop.

  as some of you maybe know i still inside the borg waiting for the right moment: i try to take care of my wife and two children that a love very much and try to do things easy and gentle not harming anyone.

  They just dont give a shit about their "brothers" and "sisters". What use is a discussion board if you cant discuss things, important things like that?

  
  WOL just seems to be some sort of keep 'em happy placebo. Let them think they have a discussion board so they don't go looking for one elsewhere....somewhere they might find out the real truth.

  On the subject matter, I knew of one sister who resorted to goading her ex to admit adultery over the phone and tape it for that all important proof.

  Let me see.....If you have a problem, its your fault and if someone else has a problem, that is also your fault, but don't let it get to you.

  Sounds like a recipe for a mental breakdown to me. But then again, most of the stuff published by the WTS is so convoluted - keeps the rank and file JWs in line though, doesn't it?

  My Mother's Letter

  i recently got this letter from my mother, i thought i would share it to help see how this saga continues.

  my parents are both regular pioneering as we speak.

  have seen their grandchildren for about an hour in the last six months.

  What a sad letter.

  All your mum is doing is reacting to what has been shoved into her head - maybe when she settles down she will be able to think more rationaly about it. My mum reacted in a very similar way (she got the headaches too, amongst other things), just lashed out because she was hurting. We are back on track now, better than ever. I think the way the WTS treated me had a lot of impact on her, once she settled down, and her attitude has now really changed - she left the org a little while ago.

  You are doing a wonderful and brave thing Bill, and if your mum could get her head out of JW space I think she would see that for herself.

  i enjoyed englishman's post about americans vs europeans.

  i chose to start a new thread because i want to take the topic in another direction.. the usa is still a young nation and an enigma.

  the nation was created by european settlers who wanted to get away from things they did not like about europe, especially religious intolerance and inflexible governments, and have the opportunity to build a new future.

  Thanks for the post Amazing. I've been thinking about this subject a bit since it was posted in the other thread. I too have met a few Americans visitors and found most of them to be really nice people.

  The other thread has had me thinking about the role that exposure played a major role in how we view other nations. I have found that expanding knowledge tends to help increase tolerance of other viewpoints. When you said

  it reflected a conclusion I had come to some time ago- JWs live in a closed community and are thus very limited in their exposure to other peoples, increasing intolerance levels, IMHO. Most of my friends are uni grads and tend to be interested in what is happening in the world, and thus make an effort to find out. I find these people to be more accepting of people for who they are, not what nation they are from.

  I have been lucky enough to live in three different countries, and enjoyed every one of them. It would be wonderful if we could enjoy the differences of the people on this board.
