"Apostates " are sex degenerates.!!!!
by hamsterbait ini noted with anger the post about the dc where one of the speakers claimed that people who become apostate are involved in immoral conduct of some kind.. this goes down in the same list of stupidity as the statement that "apostates claim to have greater wisdom than the faithful and discreet slave" - as v pointed out they do not claim greater wisdumb, they simply disagree.. i began doubting and questioning not only after finding out about how the witchtower had lied about carbon dating, but their lies about the creative days, finding out how chinas written history goes back to before the flood, yet never mentions how the chinese were all drowned - and how the wt lies and misrepresents "evidence" for their assertions.. excuse me witchtower - but my genitals had nothing to do with seeing through the lies and deceit, and yes hypocrisy.. of course once started on that road i read more and became less convinced than ever of their claims to be gods only channel.. maybe soon i shall get the chance to become a moral degenerate, than it will prove everthing the borg claims about people like us to be true.. in the meantime stop slinging mud and insulting my integrity.. hb.

I remember reading 1984 in 1983...Grade 12 - you had to read it to graduate. I went to bethel in 1985....and, honesty, I couldn't help comparing it to that book. It was so weird...bethel was just like the book described...even with the instructions on the TV screen.

Why Can't People Just Show Appreciation For This Place???
by minimus ini've been reading a few pages of threads from saturday until today and i can't understand why some,(actually very few) try to damage this site.
this is one of a handful of (ex)jw sites that really helps people get out of the organization.
the interaction that we have here shows anyone how we can leave the so- called "truth" and enjoy life!

I thank you, too. I appreciate it. It's been my lifeline while "drowning" in the WTS.
I hate the fact that others are being inappropriate. I try to ignore those posts.
However, in this site is an amazing bunch of people, and an amazing amount of information, and I'm so glad that it exists!
I even like the fact that it is so monitored. I don't think it's censorship. If you want to say anything...go to another board. This is the personality of the board, and for me it fits.

Is age just a number? 30 year difference between partners....
by LouBelle ina collegue of mine, a mother of 19 year old twins is distressed.
her one son has been going out with an older women (this came to light when the other twin was sick and tired of all the lying going on) the truth is that the older women turns out to be her very good friend, who is now 49 years old.
let's call her madam x.. madam x is a very '"sweet"" woman - i know her, as i used to work with her.

Although I find this age difference somewhat disturbing personally...
I know someone who is 18 years younger than his wife. He is a high school teacher. He's 60 now, and she's 78...they've been married over 30 years. They're kind of cute when you see them together.
He always says to me...it''s not about the age of life...it's about the stage of life. I suppose it can work???.

for "born-ins"
by Mandette indoes anyone remember being a little kid and being forced to sit through those 2 hour meetings?
specifically being made to listen to graphic accounts of whatever country that was going through horrific persecution.
(or any other horrors you might remember).

The Malawi thing terrified me. My parents had me write a letter to some official there, and my mother put my rough-draft copy of it in a scrap book for me - and I still have it.?
That was a turning point for me when I was reading COC, to find out that it was for a silly political card that they were getting persecuted for, when the JWs in Mexico could bribe there way out of military service.
Then there was the fear instilled that we could be separated from our parents, watch them be tortured, etc. And those tortuous pictures we were subjected to in the Paradise Lost book and Revelation book.
When I was about 2, my parents asked me "why do you go to meetings?" I'm sure they were waiting for the "because I love Jehovah answer," but what they got was, "to get a spanking." LOL. My parents actually find this story amusing.

The most inappropriate remarks from Jehovahs Witnesses
by jambon1 ini have a few which still either anger me, make me sad or just make me grateful that i am no longer one of them.
1 - "well, everyone is going to die anyway, so if it at armageddon then ce la vie" 2 - "the disater today at the world trade centre is sad, but exciting" 3 - (an elder) "when armageddon happens, i want to be at a window, watching it all".
sick, sick, sick!

By an elder on a shepherding visit, days after my JW husband had left and moved in with a woman from his work....AND...while 8 months pregnant with our 5th baby (the oldest being 5 1/2 at the time)...
"...and I need to let you know, that if you sleep with him again after this point, you will not retain your grounds to remarry..."
