why do you call it a "communion service' ? There is no communion at the memorial service. The JW memorial is a service at which all JWs are asked to reject Christ.... as they are not allowed to "partake" of the "emblems" (wine and bread)....

Renee: It always makes me shudder and weep (inside) when I hear of kids being abused and maltreated by their own parents. How can a mother or father do such things to their own kids ? These kids are abused by the persons they should rely on for protection....
How do these parents explain their cruel behavior, once the kids are adults? Do these adult kids still have a relationship with their abusers, just because they're their parents ?

i've been thinking of how all of our lives have changed from learning about this religion and getting out.
probably no one has done more to help us understand the truth about "the truth" than raymond franz.
of course there were others that questioned dates, prophecies and dogma but it was ray franz that revolutionized the organization.
Here's a campaign idea: Make it a goal to put this book in the public library of every town that has a KH.
I did, years ago.... It was the second edition I believe....

my soon to be three year old son asked me yesterday if i was dying.
i was shocked that he knew the word 'dying' and asked where he heard it.
he proceeded to tell me that his aunt (a jw) read him a story about jesus twiste (christ) and jesus was dying.
He is your son, talk to your SIL and tell her you forbid her to ever read that creepy book to your little guy. Or to tell him anything related to the JW religion. Gosh, he's only 3 ! Why put these depressing ideas in his little mind? Death, destruction and vengence by an angry God... I understand it's not easy to control what's going on when he's visiting his dad's family. If he was my kid, I would not let him go there unsupervised anymore until they can promise not to do it again.
just finished 'hyped-up-bestselle-of-the-year' the da vinci code.
it was a lot of fun; a great long chase scene disguising a lot of narrative about the birth of christianity.
what i liked was the new perspective on so many things.
I loved that book ! I can't wait to see the movie. Before I knew anything about the Brown book, I had read "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" , which really got me interested. Now the authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail are sueing Brown for plagiarism and try to stop the movie to be shown !

great counsel, but someone who doesn't want to be a JW anymore won't be left alone by the Watch Tower Society and its loyal members. The Watch Tower Society and its drones will do everything to make your life miserable in breaking-up your family.
