  Why cant JWs celebrate Holidays again?

  i just thought id create a thread for all the great saying and phrases you have heard.

  my favourite is "bingo wings"- a name given to the chunky flesh that seems to be trying to escape the arms of (usually) older women.

  best viewed at bingo, when they throw their arms in the air and should 'house'.. any more for any more?

  The few I had dealings with were arseholes, our congragations had elders whos philosophy towards children was if they talk or move give them a hiding, The amount of kids I knew in just my congo who were severely beaten was unbelieveable. As for the rest of them I dont give a shit how nice, polite, indeferent, kind, evil, compassionate they are at one time or another they have heard the wrongs that have been done, and mostly do nothing.

  WILL MY CHILDREN DIE ??

  i was driving in my brothers car with him about 5 years ago (hes now an elder), we were in the middle of a row when he turned to me and told me that when i die at armageddon that i dont need to worry because he said he will look after my kids, this upset me to the point that i made him stop the car and i got out.

  a friend of mine (who is a jw) i spoke to about it told me that he was just trying to be cruel and then went on to tell me that any children who are a part of a witness family would die at armageddon.

  i would like to know if anyone knows if this true ?

  Thats the issuse right there that they promote the innocence of children, but do nothing to protect them they go even further that that and allow them to be damaged and abused. I know as a child that the elders could of stop what was oing on in my house but chose not to, they even agreed it was the right thing to do. How people who claim to love the 'god of love' would think that this is in anyway right are irresponsible, and putting ofther children in harms way. They cant manage to look after the most vulnerable people in the community its seems like only those with a popular standing or are in the top the social circles of the religon are the ones who get the most help. What a backward religon !

  What words and phrases do Brits and others see as 'American'?

  as an american, i see words such as cheerio, blimey, bloody (when referring to something negative), loo, bugger, fag (cigarette), etc.

  as chiefly british (i suppose they are).. what words and/or phrases do you consider to be chiefly american?

  i'm honestly unaware of which words i use that may not be used in other english-speaking countries.

  Hello everybody,

  Thanks for the warm welcome, Pretty much my story is battered by jw step farther whilst being blamed for the wrongs on the planet. Got thrown out of home at 15 with a f***ked up head, had no idea what was what (because of all the life skills i was taught. yeah right). Got into massive amounts of trouble doing everything i was told i couldnt/shouldnt do. Went in and out of jail for 10 years. Pretty much though i had my sorted but no theres still a load of crap in there. But this site is great i never knew there was this kind of comminity out there. I found this site by deliberately searching for it, even though i told myself i stumbled across it. It strange that so many people have been though the same things and that there most people have been affected the in the same way. Mass brainwashing, but im getting though it. Hope to speak to you all loads more

  TNS should ask the jws to move the date in return for match tickets for the game, at least they would have a full ground and the jws could pray for a miracle. ha ha
