What do you like to do for vacation

Scientology??
by Junction-Guy inwell i know very little about scientology, but from what i have seen on this board, alot of xjw's feel it is even worse than jw's.
what is it about scientology that makes it seem worse?
the reason i ask is i was passing through cincinnati the other day returning home from dayton and there was a scientology church in downtown cincinnati.

BTW you can go on youtube and watch their introductory video they show all new people. It's a hoot!!! Kirstie Alley is on it saying something like "If I didn't have Scientology, I would have killed myself"

I think they are more dangerous than JWs for two reasons: 1) They have very shady recruiting practicies. I see postings all around town (Los Angeles) geared toward young people trying to make it "big" offering workshops such as How To Be Successful etc etc. 2) They charge a lot of money for their services.
Now I have met quite a few scientologists and they have all been really nice people. More fun to party with than the JWs. I guess like JWs, it's the organization not the people that are crazy (well except Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley). hehehe

Whats wrong with Hooters?

I like Hooters! It's a great place to go and drink beer and scarf down fried trans fat goodness. Coming from LA, I've seen women wear less on the streets and in night clubs than what the Hooters girls wear.

Unfortunately, Allofmp3 is not a legal site. IIRC, they are a Russian based site that was selling music without paying rights to the record companies. So they were selling stolen music. It would be as if I took my music collection and charged people to download it.
A way around the iTunes DRM limits is to download the song, burn it to an audio CD an add it to your computer from the CD. Then you can do with it as you please.

The candy cane would probably be ok AFTER Christmas! The magic goes out of all Christmas related items for jw's after the 25th.
Same with all of those pagan holidays. Oh how we would stock up on discount cadbury eggs and peeps after easter. Or, candy corn after Halloween.

refusing to go quietly into that good night
by undercover inthe thread about refusing to act disfellowshipped at the hall got me to thinking about another scenerio:.
what if the elders contacted an inactive jw to try to set up a judicial committee meeting, in essence to disfellowship the inactive one based on rumors, innuendo and circumstantial evidence and the jw refused to go along with the inquisition?
i've heard of people being dfd in absentia but technically that isn't supposed to happen.

It worked for me. If you are familiar with my soap opera: after nine years of no problems, the elders tried to start crap and told my mom she would be disfellowshipped if she continued to talk with me. I was also informed that they wanted to talk to me to disfellowship me. So I wrote a letter to my mom to try to clear things up. I concluded the letter with some language that basically threatened individual action against the elders. (I found it here on this site.) My mom called me after her Sunday meeting to say I will not be disfellowshipped. She also said she could continue to talk to me and she was going to send a written response back to my letter but neither has happened yet. It's only been a week. We'll see what happens.

Interesting visit from broken down JW and CO
