Have a good Easter weekend.
by tec ini'm going to my parents for this long weekend, along with my boys, my aunt and her twin boys (same age as my oldest), and our pup.
will be a busy and bustling weekend, seeing as the basement recently flooded, so that area is now off-limits.
so for the next five days, the four and a half hour drive tomorrow is going to be the only quiet time i think i'm going to get, lol.. however, my mother is going to have a big pot of homemade chili waiting for us... and that alone would be worth the drive and the craziness :).

My Grandma's dying...I found out by way of an impersonal text message.
by petitebrunette inyesterday at work i received a text message from my sister that my 91 yr old grandmother is unconscious, her organs are shutting down, and they're just keeping her comfortable.
she said that they moved her to a group home, and gave me the address.
i thanked her for letting me know.

It's hard to say because every family has its own dynamics. If it were me, visiting would depend on the relationship I had with the person. If the relationship was good I'd go see her, and ignore any "family" that I had no current relationship with.
If your grandmother was shunning you I see no reason to visit. As for what other 'family" might say, it's irrelevent. They're JWs, which means they'll find something negative to say no matter what you do.

Many attending the memorial were reading our signs and actually giving us the thumbs up as they passed by. Some of the witnesses were waving at us and showing approval with our protesting and seemingly endorsing our efforts.
Most likely they were discussing how you would die at armageddon and the birds would eat you and pluck out your eyeballs, and that's why they were giving the 'thumbs up'. You were their comic relief.
