I don't have any jw family, and since my "friends" almost all ignore me
now, I'm not missing them either.

Do You Miss Not Being With Your JW Family & Friends?

i don't miss the conditional friends or family, really.
but i do know that many here are devastated by their being abandoned.

Re: The successful lawsuit for the 16 victims and how JWs will view this
by juni ini applaud the outcome that love/norris accomplished for the sixteen victims of abuse.. but, i have a concern.
it is this: for the rank and file jw, won't they view this as their "faithful and discreet" slave just got beat up by those awful apostates (associating this with the silent lambs group) ?.
i feel for some jws who are "sitting on the fence" to use their term that hopefully they will think long and hard about what is happening in the organization - considering the facts.. what do you think?.

Hi Juni

Probably, as that's the way they will be told to view it. The fds will call it
persecution, when it's really prosecution, and the r&f will go along with
it, or most of them will. -

They have thus failed to organise anything substantial against the WTS
I disagree. The child abuse lawsuits, and there may be a lot more of them
to come, are fairly substantial, I'd say.We ex jws act as individuals, and are thus unpredictable as far as the watchtower
is comcerned. While we know what to expect from them, they have no idea what
we are doing against them, which scares them.I stay in contact with a few ex jws and, of course, I'm married to one. Some I
know who left I haven't maintained contact with. I guess if we shared interests
as jws, we might keep in touch when we leave -

How many people did you bring into the "troof"?
by Bob Loblaw ini left when i was in my teenage years, thank god, so i didn't really have the chance to bring anyone under the wts mind control.

I didn't bring any in, but I've helped a few to escape.

Incredibly aggressive email I received from a JW
by jwfacts ini put the following comment on answers.yahoo.com about changes to watchtower revelation doctrine.
there have been three different versions of god given light in the watchtower publications so far;.
1. calvin studies in the scriptures series vii- the finished mystery p.151 "calvin is entitled to the honor of having at one time been a papal star .... is called wormwood.

I get plenty of rude and aggressive emails from jws who wander on to my
website. Most of them seem to have the same standard of education, in
terms of spelling and grammar, that your guy has. You must be doing a
good job on the watchtower to get stuff like this. -

This is great news, thankyou Randy and Danny
I wonder how the org feels now they KNOW that there dirty little secrets are
coming out. I can hardly wait for more lawsuits to get started - there's bound
to be more.Mad:
The biggest Perverts are those accusing us of covering over pedofiles. So many believe just about everything they read- even on 'free-for-all' boards like this
Spoken like the true jw apologist troll we always knew you were. At least we won't have to
read any more of your bs, thankyou Simon.Whose life to ruin? Which party is lying- which is telling the Truth?
We all know the answer to that Mad, including you. The watchtower doesn't give in on a lawsuit
it thinks it can win. Backing down is an admission of guilt on there part. -

ALERT: All Child Abuse Lawsuits have been settled. Millions cashed out???
by What-A-Coincidence inre: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/8/116108/1.ashx.
a bethel insider in the know told me that all of the child abuse lawsuits where the watchtower bible and tract society was one of the defendants were settled back in the beginning of this year.
i questioned it and called napa myself and they were absolutely settled back then.

Hey Abbagail,
So it was you who put that answer up! Thankyou - I selected it as best answer!
That means it's the first answer anyone sees, and that jw's answer, if you can
call it that, is further down.Did you see the EVER SO SNOTTY reply you got from a self-righteous JW? It is a somewhat long post, and he says you posted it to make it look like a question but really it was a set-up as an excuse to be able to bash the JWs, etc. etc.
He was right actually. I already knew the answer, that's why I put in additional details
about being able to contact Napa Valley Courthouse for details, and suggested that
settling out of court is tantamount to an admission of guilt by the watchtower, knowing
how much boasting they've done in the past about winning court victories. -

I posed the question in Yahoo answers, in response to a poster who suggested it, but couldn't do it themselves. The question, and a few answers, are at the link Danny posted
Got a Yahoo email account? You can quickie sign up and vote comment http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Agiy_W6gntY9K8k6jK_t_q3ty6IX?qid=20070509140348AAo0Dmt&show=7#profile-info-250b391ff9c89f88a8d4c7b841023c54aa this is in Law and Ethics by a prolific JW sockpuppet troll For those who don't have access to Yahoo answers, here's the question
Is the report that the Jehovahs Witnesses settled 14 child abuse cases out of court recently true?
There is a report on some of the Jehovahs Witness Discussion Forums that the Watchtower Society settled 14 law suits taken out against them by victime of child abuse from within their congregations out of court. All these cases were in the USA, and it is also reported that the Watchtower was able to impose a gagging order on the claimants to prevent them going public with the settlements. However, the news has, apparently, been leaked, not by the claimants or their legal representatives, but by people within the organisation who wish that the truth should be told. Apparrently, the Napa Valley Courthouse in California has confirmed that these cases have indeed been settled out of court, but no details of the size of the payouts has been revealed as yet. If these reports are accurate, it would appear that the Watchtower Society has once again been able to cover up child abuse cases within their organisation, though settling out of court is an admission of guilt in itself.
Of course, I know it is true about the settlements, but I also know that plenty of jw apologists go on there, judging by the reaction to jw-related questions previously posted. There is one very typical jw reaction on there now, check it out dedpoet

How do I get a Witness to do some deep research on Russell? Any Pointers?
by NotaNess ini feel most witnesses don't know of the history behind russell and the beginnings of the society.
they're bent on "origins" of things, but we know that the wts keeps material and knowledge to a minimal on the origins of the society, and specifically russell.
to a co-worker, i hinted at the pyramid memorial about russell, and he said he didn't know what i was talking about (a 20 year jw veteran).. any pointers on how i can ease the subject into "forbidden" conversation around the witnesses at work?

I feel Most Witnesses don't know of the history behind Russell and the beginnings of the society.
You're right there. If any jw honestly and objectively (not that many of them
are capable of objectivity) the origins of their beliefs from Russell onwards, I
doubt that they'd stay jws for very long. that's why they are discouraged from
doing reseach, apart from reading the kingdom proclaimers book, which twists
jw history anyway.I think a jw would have to be having a few doubts to really do research into the
watchtower's old publications anyway.
