  i know we talked about it when it was playing in the theaters, but i'm too lazy to look up that thread and i think it was in the main forum anyway.

  i just got the dvd and watched half of it.

  if you haven't seen it it's definitely worth renting.

  Jehovahs spirit on decision to disfellowship

  hi all i was thinking about this the other day and how the elders say that they have gods direction when they have judicial meetings, if that is the case and gods spirit is directing their decision then why do they have the allowance for an appeal, after all if god is supposed to be directing them there would be no mistake in the decision right?

  any thoughts people?

  since we have people from all over the world in here what was the opinion on sisters wearing trousers to the meetings and in field service, in the cong i used to go to it was frowned upon very heavily, although we could find no scriptual basis for it, was anyone allowed to wear them?

  True kirst i always remember them saying not to take a scripture out of context but they seem to do it well if they feel it is to their advantage, maybe they dont like woman wearing trousers because of the saying she wears the pants in that house, in other words not under subjection

  Hi Kist we were given the same reasoning from the same scripture, but, we must remember that at the time that scripture was written it was common for men to wear dresses,so is that what men should wear today? Just look at all the publications that depict older christians with dresses on, and isnt it that we were meant to dress the same as the business community would, i'm sure there are woman who wear business suits with pants to work especially in winter.

  what an ignorant, needy, uncritical follower i was.

  My wifes affair of over 20 years with local elder!

  i would like to take this opportunity to give a brief account of the events that i have had to under go over the last 5 weeks.

  i have been a jehovahs witness for 38 years and all of my close family are currently active jws.

  i got married to my wife in march 1999, she was a baptized witness and had been for over 30 years.
