  American Rantings About World Cup Soccer (Football)

  i try ... i really try to watch football (soccer) ... it's world cup time ... i really do try.. i just don't get it ... i really don't.. yes, it's a world-wide sport.

  in most countries it is the number 1 or number 2 sport ... no doubt about it.

  it's maybe number 5 in the usa for professional sports.. from an american's perspective (i think i speak for many), we just wonder if these guys actually have testicles.

  My opinion ... the accounts in the bible are nothing more than tall tales and legends!

  Not too long ago, here in the states, there was a story about a man that died. He was pronounced dead, zipped up, and sent to the morgue. At the morgue they have him on the table getting ready to embalm him and he starts moving around and breathing.   If that had happened in biblical times, there is no telling how the story would be told today, but it no doubt would have been accredited to a miraculous healing! Maybe Jesus touched the hem on his skirt!

  we converse, discuss, argue, laugh, agree, question, share our lives..... quite often, you kind of get to know what a person is like.

  some people, we tend to gravitate to and others, we shy away from.. how do you think you come across to other people?

  I'm pretty laid back in real life, but I am also pretty opinionated. I am opinionated online, too, I guess, but I don't like heated debates.

  Something I think is weird ... I have had several people on this board tell me that they thought I was a guy! I don't know why.

  Do I come across as more masculine online? I don't get it.

  Duck Shot Through Neck with Arrow/Dart Still On the Loose 3 Months Later

  this poor little guy was spotted in kansas city about 3 months ago.

  he was first spotted in someone's backyard pool, and has mostly been hanging out in a pond in a kansas city park.

  they keep trying to catch him, but evidently he's clever.. they said on the news tonight that the missouri conservation department is at the park tonight making a more concentrated effort to capture the duck.

  This poor little guy was spotted in Kansas City about 3 months ago. He was first spotted in someone's backyard pool, and has mostly been hanging out in a pond in a Kansas City park. They keep trying to catch him, but evidently he's clever.

  They said on the news tonight that the Missouri Conservation Department is at the park tonight making a more concentrated effort to capture the duck. Amazingly, he seems to be getting along pretty well!

  I predict this will become the longest thread ever! People have strong opinions about their football/soccer!

  I am an American woman and I use to not "get" soccer either. Now I love it! It is something you kind of have to get into, I guess.

  David Beckham did it for me. Whoa, baby!

  I am also becoming a new fan of Ronaldo! But I will always be loyal to my hometown team. We won the MLS cup!!!!!!!

  can anyone point me in the direction of unbiased (or outside) sources for research.

  i'm particularly interested in anything showing the teachings or russell and rutherford and proof of what the wts society was teaching in 1919?.

  i don't want to direct my friend to an apostate site..

  The best research is using the Society's own literature.

  Any website out there that has the information you want (that is not JW.org) will be considered apostate by the Witnesses.

  I always liked this one. It has been shut down by the organization and then put back up by somebody else multiple times.

  at a recent special assembly day in casa grande, there was a talk about youths and the choices in life that are set before them.. .

  during the talk, there was an interview of three people - two young girls (ages 13-16?

  ) and an older brother (age 969?).

  No Blood windshield stickers

  i just walked back from getting my mail and happen to walk right by an automobile that belongs to the jw's who live in the end of my building.

  the sticker in the low left of the windshield caught my attention so i stopped to read it.

  it was a sticker that said......advanced medical directive.....no blood!
