Good for you JH. I hope I get there someday - until then, more self-pity and scotch, please.....

I'm at a point where I really don't care anymore..................
by JH ini'm at a point that i really don't care anymore if they disfellowship me.
i've never been disfellowshipped before, although i'm inactive for years.
i just wanted to remain as i am "inactive witness".

What's the worst response a person ever said to you in the field service?
by JH ini remember knocking on a door in the field service, and the girl who answered the door, looked at me and said in french, "allez vous faire crosser" .
although i didn't laugh, i found it very funny.
the brother with me also had a smile on his face, but didn't say a word, as we walked back to the car.

I had a guy in streetwork say to me:
"Get away from me with that F***ing Jehovah Sh*t!!!!"
I couldn't help it, I was only a young teenager but I laughed and said, "Ok!"

My wife caught me and in bed!!!!!!
by evergreen innew that would catch your attention.. yes its true folks , my wife caught me in bed reading notes that i had written down about raymond franzes book crises of conscience.
she is a staunch follower of the borg and i have now been inactive for about 2 years.. i wrote about 30 pages of notes from this book as the only place i could get my hands on one was from the library.
i couldnt order one as i was so afraid of her finding out i was reading "apostate " material.. she asked me what i was reading and said it was er just some notes i had written .

Evergreen, welcome to the board and thanks for posting this thread. I am in a similar situation, with my wife still active and still devout. Those of us in that situation can benefit greatly by sharing our experiences, I think. I have not had anything as drastic as my wife finding out about Ray Franz, but I look forward to that time. We have had several friendly debates on disfellowshipping, but not such issues as blood, CoC, the UN scandal, and so forth.
She definitely has picked up on the fact that I know a lot more than I am telling, but she hints a lot that she doesn't want me to inundate her with my views and info. Since she has not given me any crap for staying away from the meetings, I am trying to respect her wish. I do think that all the advice about doing this slowly is very, very, true. If you hit her with too much, all the built in defences that witnesses learn will kick in and she may not give the information a chance.
Anytime something does come up, I have been trying very hard to steer the discussion toward a very logical breakdown, free of emotion. I think one thing I have really learned and learned well from being a witness is how to ask leading questions. I have tried very hard to use that tactic to show inconsistencies in watchtower teaching and rhetoric. I try to find ways to ask innocent questions that lead toward an answer which is obviously correct, but also obviously against watchtower thinking.
Anyway, good luck to you!

I know what you mean. I wasn't accusing you or any particular poster of working for the WT, I just meant what if this could actually go somewhere if it just got enough steam. If that was the case, putting it down might be better for the WT than for us. Emotions are running high, and I didn't mean to point the finger at anyone.

GET REAL PEOPLE !!
by Simon indo some of you expect?!?!.
i am extremely disappointed to read some people's comments about the latest news.
it is one thing to express and opinion, perhaps that you think it isn't as big as you imagined (one wonders what you imagined) but it is another to be downright insulting to people who have put a lot of time and effort into this.. get real.

I agree with you, Simon. Why complain about the few people who are actually taking action? If someone has something better happening right now, why not bring it forth? As for the comment that some of the xjws have not changed, I agree in a way. I think some of them just want somebody to come in and fix their problems for them. It's not going to happen. Why not spend the energy thinking of ways to support the spread of Barbara's news?

Thanks for the sarcasm. You're probably right. Why would the WTBTS have any interest in a hugely successful anti-jw forum? Only a UFO sighting, conspiracy freak would think that they might be keeping an eye on this community. After all, it would be way too difficult for a member of the legal department to open several login accounts, let alone one. How could anyone manage to go "Undercover", eh? Why would they waste their time? I guess you don't think they would care to know if they were about to get nailed with a huge lawsuit. Am I right?

I can't help but wonder if those who are putting this news down have a hidden motive.
Didn't Barbara say that this information would only be damaging if a lot of us did something about it?
So if a few naysayers could kill morale and keep a large number of people from doing anything about it, wouldn't that be serving the interests of the WTBTS?
Just a thought.

Although I was told that was true thousands of times, it obviously wasn't. It was an atmosphere that promoted paranoia, guilt, and fear. I find now that sometimes I cannot even bear to walk into any sort of room that resembles a B school without experiencing severe anxiety symptoms.

I have wondered this very thing many times. I shouldn't care, but it gets me riled up thinking about the fact that they have records of me. I had even thought of getting a PO box and placing a fake call, but I got worried that there might be something I don't know about the procedure.
Plus, in my situation, they would know it was a ruse, because my wife is still active at the meetings.
