Do the JWs worship a 'Satanic' God??

if animal sacrifices is considered 'satanic/pagan/occultish' practice, then why do the jws worship a god who demanded animal sacrifices and still consider that blood be poured on the ground or discarded as a sacrifice to god?.

following the wtbts practice of following everything back to its source (supposedly) to discover why it was done and then label it as satanic, why do they still continue their obsession with blood?.

You may dislike the Dubs

You may oppose their stand on blood transfusions (however muddled that stand may be these days)

But please don't kid yourself by speaking of "a God who demanded animal sacrifices etc etc" as if ONLY the NWT speaks of such a Deity. Regardless of what the policy on blood transfusions may be, the Old Testament God is the God of the Bible. He is not the sole property of Jehovah's Witnesses or the WTBTS..

You should be demanding to know how ANY FUNDAMENTALIST Christian resolves the contradictory image of the blood thirsty God of the OT with the oh-he-died-for-your-sins-benevolent Jesus H. Christ.

while discussing the trinity, you as the jw said that the word trinity is not in the bible.. the non-jw responds, well you believe in a theocracy or theocratic organization.

Dear Triple A,

A competent JW would not have merely asserted that the absence of the word "Trinity" is irrefutable evidence against that doctrine.

A competent JW would have said "Neither the word nor the CONCEPT of a Trinity is found in the Bible". And that's when the real debate begins. Let's not make JWs sound stupider than they really are.

John 1:1 in the KIT, how blind a JW must be to actually believe the WT

ok, ya know the scripture and all, but there is something that even jws can't even deny.

in john 1:1, the word god, or theos.

the lower case word of god, in the greek is qeov, the upper case word is "8eov" (my keyboard doent have that letter as you know) the word god appears twice in this verse, written the exact same way.

I am wondering that if ya 3 here realize that the word God, in the old testiment (Elohim), was plural almost 5 out of every 6 times it was used and never was really intended to be used for Jehovah only, unless written as Eloah? A-Team

The plurality of Elohim is a different point altogether. You initially asserted that JWs are blind because they fail to educate themselves in the matter of capitalization in the John 1:1 text.

Qcmbrand Nark have revealed why your reasoning is faulty. It would not cost you very much to exercise some humility to say that you got that wrong and that your condescending tone against JWs in this matter is unwarranted. It is a shame in making monsters of JWs, we behave like ogres ourselves.

Have they started using BADGES at the doors?

i had dinner with a non-jw friend the other night and he said that two young jw men had paid him a visit.

though they did not verbally identify themselves as jws, they apparently wore tags (the kind they wear for conventions) that had their personal names and their organization in print.. now i don't recall us ever using tags for assemblies.

and they couldn't have come from a dc since we've just had ours in august (?).

I guess the jury's out huh? Actually I recall my friend saying that they had North American accents and that he thought they were missionaries of some sort. That should have given it away. I don't think there are many American JW missionaries in Australia! lol.

I disagree. The Bible does not have a clear-cut position on homosexuality. The archaic laws against "man lying with man" are written alongside laws discriminating women, advocating slavery, and brutal punishment of blasphemers. Lisa already knows the problem with the Sodom story. The best we can cling on to is merely Pauline opinion. And even that can be challenged.

i can't seem to find any links to the annual report released earlier this year.

just wondering how many jws are in north korea.

Depending on the country, I think proselytizing to Muslims is punishable...not just the mere act of proselytizing.

How can people be "in error" and yet are "speaking truth" or are not in the wrong? Evidently self-denial. Such leniency would not be extended to Christendom as their latest Kingdom News tract shows.

You made some good points about the Bible and sexuality. It seems thought that your JW is going to want to divert the discussion elsewhere (Paradisaic future? Apocalyptic future? Prophetic fulfilment?) based on the fact that she was gonna bring the Revelation book.

I personally wouldn't let a Dub get away with the diversion. It suggests a chink in the armor.

But were you asking us what we thought of your encounter? Or were you hoping for some ammunition re: Bible and homosexuality?

well, today i came home from work and i found some pamphlet from a jehovah's witness on my doorstep.

i began to read it because before i state what i believe i think it is only fair that i find out some info.

it was the flyer about the end of false religion.

So we agree that "stupid" and "mean" (which you definitely did write) do not necessarily describe a cult member?

"Wishful ideologies" - from whose point of view? To some, the Trinity doctrine can seem like wishful ideology, so can the veneration of Mary, the belief in miracles, the adoration of saints etc. Do individuals who suscribe to these ideologies also get labelled "cult member"? No. Why?

How many mainstream Christians (who were never JWs) can successfully debunk JW teachings on the cross? blood transfusions? birthdays?
