A bitter experience with my JW sister
by dawn48 inhi, this is very long, sorry, but i need to talk to someone about how i feel.. i'm not a jw although for a short time i studied with them back in 1984 along with my younger sister.
my sister became a jw in 1984 and about that very same time i accepted jesus christ as my savior, but did not become a jw as i disagreed with some of their teachings.
i did and still do attend the church of god.she has four children.

Sounds like you've been unofficially disfellowshipped, along with your son. I say, disfellowship them right back. Serves them right.

Do what you want! There is no correct way to post. Here's to being self-involved!!!!! It's the only way to be! It's the borg talking when you feel like you are being selfish and that that is a bad thing.

We are we almost all black now? Especially CO's.
by coaster infor the past couple of years at my district conventions, i have been unable to actually listen to most of it, so my mind is in many places.
one such place was to count people in several of the other sections as to blacks and whites.
section 132..42 white and 137 black, section 133..36 white and 144 black, and so on.

Cults with snappy answers are particularly appealing to low socio economic classes. So, it makes sense that there would be growth in the amount of blacks in the borg. Unfortunately for them, they are traditionally less educated and therefore more suceptible? than those of other more educated classes. If you have the opportuinity to talk to many black witnesses like I do living in Long Beach, you will find that they are typically especially blinded and taken in by WT rhetoric. They just don't have the critical thinking skills to combat the rhetoric. This is why there is more growth in Spanish congregations as well. the blacks that I have talked to have little knowledge about the borg and its history and seem to be acting on emotion more than intelectual ability. They speak of the WT in the same manner that so many gospel church members speak of their churches. Lots of "Amen, bro, this is the truth!" not so much any ability to analyze?. I actually met a black brother who came to my door who had a masters degree but still exhibited the same low socio economic ignorance and lack of critical thinking skills. This person apparently left his heart in the ghetto when he went to school so when he got out he fell right back into a ghetto religion. Sad. That's my two cents.

BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?
by Black Man ini often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

Proof of God's existence
by Blackboo infrom a logical point....i notice that in these threads that there are few here who dont believe in god..but i hate to tell you your dead wrong for having such an ignorant belief like that..instead ya,ll are blaming religion, people, and your personal problems for your lack of faith in god..thats dead wrong.
the non-believers are not looking at the whole picture..just the present..the things that go on in the world happen for a reason and it doesnt mean god doesnt exist.
the bible says "the fool has said in his heart god doesnt exist".

nvrgnbk! I love it! Perfect! Great honorable mention of Friedman's great work "Who wrote the Bible/" Yeah, this guy reaffirms my non-belief in God. Why don't religious people feel embarrassed at their truly ignorant arguments. Seriously, I've read so many arguments for and against God, and those for God never cease to commit the logical fallacy of "begging the question." I recommend a great book called "Logic and contemporary rhetoric" by Kahane for anyone that's interested. This book is the touchstone of critical thinking - priceless. Consider the possibility that everyone who has ever lived has gotten everything completely wrong. Evolution or not, it doesn't prove that God exists just because evolution is wrong. There's still an infinity of exlanations for our origins aside from evolution and creationism. The great spaghetti monster is one of my favorite explanations.
