i 've heard snippets of this absurd urban myth about jay leno asking j denver to leave his show because he hated jw's.

but why on earth on a prime time slot would j leno start asking j denver about jw's?

and i don't think j leno is a particularly spiritual guy or wt supporter is he?

I heard this with a different twist.... The story was that John Denver had a concert, and before it started he asked everyone in the audience who was a JW to please stand up. There were several there, and after they stood up, John Denver asked them to leave.

I've heard it told that way, and I've also heard it told that John Denver was very patriotic, and he would ask EVERYONE to stand for the national anthem. Those who didn't were asked to leave. Of course JWs, always looking for persecution, took it to be against them personally.

Whenever I went to a sporting event, I would stand for the National Anthem, or else conveniently be out getting refreshments until it was over. Cut me some slack though, I didn't join up voluntarily.

I think the rumor was Johnny Carson and John Denver, and I think it is also a JW Urban Legend.

Would you say yes to a blood transfusion?

i would like to get some honest answers about your position on blood transfusion.

as we get older, sooner or later we wind up in the hospital and the question they always ask is"...in the event.. would you accept blood?

" faced with that question, i answered no.

To me, it's like asking if I would wear an oxygen mask if I needed to. I wouldn't give it a second thought. JW's would have you believe that doctors are running around giving people blood transfusions for no reason, and on top of that, Satan will deliberately make sure that any JW who does take blood will get tainted blood and will die anyway, on top of having pissed of the "Great and Powerful OZ Jah.

have you ever refused to serve on a jury due to personal religious convictions?.

if so, were you immediately excused from serving in the jury?.

if you are not religious, would you still use that as an excuse to get out of serving in a jury?.

Speaking of jury duty, has anyone ever had "federal" jury duty(U.S.)? I have it right now, sort of. I have to call some number every friday for 2 months to see if I have to show up. It's a pain in the butt trying to remember. I actually forgot this weekend, but because of MLK day, I was able to call this morning. For regular jury duty, I've been called every three years like clockwork. Never been selected, or even interviewed, for that matter. Everyone has plead out before it has come to that.

What was the worst (or funniest) thing you got caught doing at a meeting?

or in service, or just by jws period... me, i was notorious for doodling in my literature.

when i was about 12, i got caught drawing the led zeppelin logo in my bible by the meanest elder in the hall.

my mother wouldn't let me out of the house for about 2 months!

I was probably 13, and I wanted to prove that the fire extinguisher wouldn't go off if the pin was still in it. You can guess what happened.

jw answer: he will probably resurrect .

Q. What's the biblical reason for not smoking?

A. "The bible says your body is a temple, and you should not defile it, now do you mind if I get back to the buffet table?, oh, don't worry, I can always get my stomach stapled when my knees give out" (mind you, I have nothing against one who enjoys food, but I know a number of people from my old hall who this absolutely applies to)

Q. p.1 Why can't you have a blood transfusion?

A. Because the bible says to abstain from blood.

Q. p.2 Doesn't that just mean don't eat it?

A. p.2 Well, If your doctor said not to drink alcohol, would you inject it into your vein?

Answer to that profound and deep "illustration"... Well, if injecting said alcohol into my vein would actually save my life, then, yeah... tard. If blood represents life, then you would think that the thing it is representing would actually be more important...oh, and the red juice coming from your steak...it ain't food coloring, dufus.

i've been posting here for quite a long time, so long in fact that it just doesn't feel right that my wife isn't a part of it.

earlier today i created an account for her with the username heron, she'll know why.

Perhaps this should be in the "humor" section. I love how these freaks equate "scientific theory" with a layman's hunch... i.e. the 'theory' of evolution. On top of it all, it is a pretty crap webpage. Perhaps someone will purchase one of the books, and his page will be able to evolve.

i'm sure there are many........... what happen in my family was crazy......... glendora califorina 1961.my mother wanted to change khs, it had a "bad spirit" there.

there was also a mass exodus from the hall.

she wanted to go to the azusa cong.

I also have a friend who was disfellowshipped for polygamy. I guess I have some wierdo friends, and I sorta wish I could disfellowship them too, sometimes, but I don't. I don't because I guess I love them, like you are supposed to with your friends, even though they do some stupid shhhtufff. Kinda like the love that Jehovah claims he has for us, as interpreted by the Watchtower.
