  i guess you could say i grew up as a lamb in the organization.

  encouraged to get baptized at age 14 so i followed the crowd of eager robots thinking it would impress mom.

  (such a fine christian sister) hey that's all i knew at that time.

  MD your grandmom was probably a far more righteous person than many JW's. Who are they to say who gets to live or not. Judge not lest you be judged is something they do not believe in. Welcome to JWD, hope to hear more from you.

  and i guess after opening my big stupid mouth on jw's thread regarding child abuse it's time for me to share a bit more about me.... .

  when i was in my preteens i ran away from home in the middle of the night.

  a friend of mine in the congregation has directed me to this site as he has been having doubts about the organization, though he said he never posts on it.

  Welcome zico. I think lovelylil said it best. I've said it before and I will say it again JW's do not have a monopoly on God. I spent 40 years as a JW and many of them as an elder, even giving the memorial talk. I do not believe that only 144,000 go to heaven. Do the math and you will see it does not add up to what JW's claim.

  ok i know it was not just upstate new york that had this problem.

  of all the jw weddings i went to, i can think of 3 that were catered.

  all the rest, the congregation members paid for.

  Fluff "my jeans died today "

  ..................well today another pair of favorite jeans died today.

  i took them out of the washer and there was a massive tear across the bum.

  now i know this doesnt put off some ppl from still wearing a pair like that but, believe me you wouldnt want to see my bottom !.

  Probably, because back in 1959 married the first girl I went with , the end was right around the corner and you know no marriage in the new order. What a mistake that was, it screwed up 20 years of my life.

  That makes a total of 40 wasted years.

  What was your Favourite/Worse time and day to go in the Field Service?

  i never went out in the field service on the week-ends.

  i did't want to meet too many people afterall !!!.

  so, i went out in the field service only during the week, and only in the morning, knowing that not many would answer, because people were either at school, or at work.

  Why is it always the Husband?

  when it comes to talks and study articles about marriage, why is the emphasis always put on the husband about making the marriage work, over emphasis on husbands loving their wife?

  women are just as equally responsible for what happens in marriages, yet the wtbs devotes 3/4 of an article on what husbands should be doing and 1/4 on wives, and thats only to be submissive and be respectful, how sad!

  child abuse is not limited to jw's.. if you truly want to stop child abuse first start with the family , and be honest we all have a relative that is a pedophile.. then protect your family from stranger danger.. don't just isolate to jw's.. expand and truly stop the child abuse world wide.

  You know anyone with the last name of Funk?

  i am looking for my grandfather that i have never met before.

  his name is robert funk.

  my dad learned his fathers name when he applied for his social security.

  I had a teacher in highschool named Funk. I do not know his first name as we just knew him as Mr Funk. ! am sure he would probably be dead by now as this was back in the fifties in Ontario Canada.

  It is quite a common name here as there are 29 listed in the local telephone book. Good luck.
