when i lived farther up country..i had a car load of dub ladys come to the ranch..i told them they supported an organization that would kill everyone but jw`s.thats what i was taught when i was a kid..they said "no",that decision will be made at armageddon..??

?.this is the person that taught that doctrine to me.i just rolled my eyes.more "theocratic warefare stratagey".that woman woud lie in a heart beat for the wbt$.....yesterday the subject came up on a thread and hillary_step said the comment is true.....hillary and i have been friends for years,he totally blew me away..i could`nt believe what i was reading..he said the change had been made in the "90`s".....so now i have some questions for those who are more up to date on this subject than i..hillary_step,if your kick`n around please chime in.......#1:when did the wbt$ decied to quit preaching only the jw`s would get into the new system?..#2if you no longer need to be a jw to get into the new system,why bother?..#3:dieing at armageddon because your not a jw,was a gun to your head to join the jw`s.what do they use now?.....this isn`t the same religion i walked away from decades ago..this,the un scandel,the generation change,blood factions now acceptable..the wbt$ is morphing before our eyes and jw`s dont see it..lol!

A slow witted man walked into a patent office. He walked up to
the patent officer and said, "Hey, I've got a new idea for a
mouse trap." "Here's the box. Here's the hole. Here's the
cheese. Here's the blade. The mouse sticks his head in the hole
to get the cheese, the blade drops on his neck and kills him."

The patent officer looks at the diagram. He understands that the
man is a little slow, so he wants to be kind. He explains to the
man that he does not think the design is ready to be patented
yet. He tells the man, "Please, work on it some more. Perhaps
I will be able to patent it another time."

The slow witted man says thank you and leaves the office.

One week later the slow witted man shows up again. He says, "This
is the box, this is the hole, this is the cheese and this is the
wire. The mouse sticks his head in the hole to get the cheese,
the wire wraps around his neck and kills him."

The patent officer, still trying to be kind, makes the same excuse
as before. The slow witted man leaves.

One week later, the slow witted man returns again. He approaches
the same patent officer and says, "Here's the box. Here's the hole
and here's the saw blade."

The patent officer notices the design and the fact that there is
no cheese. He asks the slow witted man, "Where's the cheese"?

"Ah-ha!" says the slow witted man. "That's the point. The mouse
sticks his head in the hole and says, "Where did you put the
cheese?"

Interesting, as was the documentary. I can't say I buy the following though:

Academics who jump on the global warming bandwagon are far more likely to get big research grants than those who express doubts — and research is the lifeblood of an academic career at leading universities.

Surely the energy companies could pour fortunes into research which could reasonably counter the "global warming hysteria"? If it's then scientifically evaluated by neutrals with no agenda, then surely the arguement could be settled? What is implied, is that those with the cash and influence (the polluters) only rely on naysaying, in the face of an avalanche of hard scientific evidence.

when talking to non jw's and telling them that jw's believe everybody else will be destroyed at the big a for not being a jw and they say they just asked a jw this and the jw said that no they don't believe this, how do i answer without going through the 125+ years of literature?

the jw may even say that is a lie spread by apostates to make them look bad or they are evil, couldn't live up to bible standards, ..... you know the drill.

looseend - are you familiar with Alfred Russel Wallace? It was his papers on natural selection that forced Darwin to prematurely publish his own, to save total preemption.
