As always the gov body are very selective in what they say.
I wonder what the Russian people would think of JWs if they new that approx 200000 have died in the last 60 years because of their medical beliefs.
Or how would they feel if they went into the religon then decided it was not right and the rest of their JW family never spoke to them again.
As always there are two sides to every story.
It's truly amazing that the society was building and enlarging and yet the Kingdom Ministry was telling of brothers selling their assetts to enable them to spend more time in the service in the final months before the big A.

Yes no bets on what the dubs will be speaking about on the doors at the moment. And yet the society themselves have admitted in the past that earthquakes are no greater in our time than other times in human history.

Can you imagine if one of our sons deliberately went against us on a serious issue. Yes it may well afect our relationship in the coming years with him but it certainly would not mean that we have it in for his ancesters 6000 years down the line.
The whole account is a joke. Notice how the WT adds things that are not in the account. They decide it is God's heavenly woman refered to. But it does not read that way. Also where does it say the sead would take thousands of years to put things right again.

there are many new folk joining here everyday , and i thought it may be interesting and fun to just see how many people have left the congregation that you have attended in the past 5 years .
i dont mean of course people who are active jw's moving to another cong , but people that have left the wt religion , faded , da'd or df'd .. so , i will start off with my own cong .there have been 9 leave , 8 completely gone , myself hardly ever there and ' inactive ' .. leo999.
It depends what part of the world you are from. Certainly in Europe they are leaving as fast as they are coming in. However in good old USA there was an apparant increase of 4%. (how did that happen?)
ask a dub acquaintance this and see if they have anything resembling a rational answer:.

When my son got married recently at the Kingdom Hall, it became obvoius at the practice, that the congregation were not going to stand up when the bride entered. When I asked about it the Presiding Elder said 'well it's like worship isn't it. I was amazed that a simple act of respect could somehow be an act of worship. I kid you not.

I always had a problem with the society quoting the 1000 years is as one day to God. The whole of the Greek scriptures gives the impression that everything Jesus spoke about would happen very soon.
Common sense should tells us that he was not talking about 2000 years in the future. If that means what he said did not take place then so be it!
just think about it...... if possible the wts tries to delete publications and songs written by former members of the slave as much as possible.. but king salomo also became involved with other religions at the and of his live....and it's one of the most quoted persons in the watchtower and other wts publications..
I may be wrong but I believe Ray Franz ,ex governing body member wrote a lot of the book 'Aid to bible understanding' and that was superseded by 'Insight on the scriptures'

I don't think things are as clear cut as that.
Just about everybody at the kingdom hall has been taken in by the WT society. They are all in the same boat.
They genuinly believe you need to be at the meetings or you may give in to Satan etc.
There are many genuine good people who are witnesses. Where they fall down is that they see no need to check what they have been told, and let's face it many of us were exactly the same. Let's have a bit of compassion for them.
