I thought it was interesting that the UK bethel workload of printing has gone up24%
They are now doing the printing for Denmark, Portugal, Holland and Spain.
All countries with little or no growth. Those Bethel boys must get depressed knowing all their work has actually barely made any difference to the number of publishers in those countries.

i was reading crisis of conscience and i noticed a really odd pic of fred franz on page 90 (looks like he was sitting down?
) in the picture, and i knew i had seen him somewhere before (watchtower) or yearbook, and i always wondered why the organization took so many pictures of the presidents back then...if they didnt want the emphasis put on men but on the organization??
why was this?
Hi Joliette, I guess the answer is that for a long time JWs were on a learning curve. There are loads of things they don't do now that they did a few decades ago. I'm sure the legal department goes through everything now with a fine tooth comb just to make sure nothing will come back to them and bite them in the ass. It's taken them 130 years but nowdays it is only on odd occasions they say something really dumb.
i've been faded, inactive, for 6 years or more and the witnesses i know are astounded that i'm not in trouble.
they don't say it but its on their minds.
i do the things thier "brothers and sisters" don't do towards them.
I faded about 15 years ago but still see witnesses every now and then. If they ever ask how I am doing I am always very positive about my life, bearing in mind that they would love to hear mesay that you are having a terrible life. The best thing I think is that the people who care for me now are totally genuine friends and family, unlike the witnessses who were only kind and loving toward me if I agreed with their religion totally.
what was it that first got you thinking that the society was wrong in how they interpret the bible?.
for me personally, it was the way they always downgrade jesus to be an angel and are promoting the governing body in his place.. also when the society taught that jesus was abaddon/apollyon the fallen angel in revelation..
It was when we were studying the Revelation book and the society had the arrogance to apply just about everything in the book to themselves

StAnn It includes Wales, Scotland and Nothern Ireland as far as I know and is listed under Britain in the worldwide report. For years now there has been no real increase at all in Britain and that also applies to many European countriies.

Thanks very much for that focyc. I will read it properly later whe I have more time. It's amazing how each month they just go over old ground again and again. Presumably as more and more witnesses do their own thing instead of listening to 'mother'

my sister is taking care of the sex and condoms talk, thank goodness.. my only nephew (and likely the closest i will get to having a kid) turns 16 next month.
his mom is inactive, doesn't know if she is going back.
Not easy but it could just save him from a life dedicated to the watchtower society.
I did it the wrong way. I bombarded my son who was about 22 with everything I new was wrong with the society. Unfortunately the witnesses had already got to him and warned him there would be strong opposition to him becoming a witness.
The best advice now I think is really what you said. Find out what he thinks and feels about the religion. He may never have thought for instance that the love that is shown is totally conditional on him believing all that he is told by the org. That may strike a cord.
Anyway good luck and keep us informed how things are going.

i would like more than anything just to fade away and life my life.
however, i am not willing to give up my family, specifically my nephew who needs me to stick around.
I think once you have accepted that what they are teaching is wrong, I personally feel, that is the time to stop attending meetings and putting in a service report. Otherwise your whole life is living a lie. I can certainly understand why fading could be a good option as that is what I did as I still had family in. If you make it formal by dsisassociating yourself, you will almost certainly be shunned by friends and family in the org.
With fading you get the best of both worlds you have your freedom to start living your life again and you can still have contact with friends and family.
It's not easy but so worth the effort. I wish you well.
