  How do I help my JW friend?

  she's the same age as me; 22 but has the mentality of a 16 year old.

  she has been itching to get married the past couple of months b/c in her mind: the only way she will be able to be out of her parents' control is to finally get married to a "fine witness brother".

  i told her why not go back to school and while you do that save up money to find your own place?

  the lifestyle of a woman as one of jehovah's witnesses is certainly not an easy job.

  it is a well known fact that most of the work that takes place within the watchtower society contributing to its success, is due to the backbone of the watchtower which can be described as the women in the congregation.

  But Yes, woman have to be obidient to men and do not keep their skirts so long unwashed.

  the reason i ask is this, a 'nice' couple across the road are born again christian fundamentalists.

  their little boy was playing with a sword and his mum told me he had been watching 'narnia' (based on the lion the witch and the wardrobe).

  I am Christian - not child. I guess God keeps me from Harry Potter by boring me. I tried about 3-4 times to watch the movies... I never get passed first 30 minutes... it is boring... not interesting and stupid movie. Ofcourse teletoobies are more stupid, but not far from H.P.

  i have been thinking about this for a while and while a lot of things posted here deal with directing at the wrong things in the org -- here is another way to look at things.

  for those that do not believe in the bible or jesus -- this will not be relevant...... if jesus were here on the earth today in charge of the congregation - -would he give the elders a flock book and then tell them this is what is to be used, with out the friends knowledge when it came to judicial cases.

  would he threaten ones who look at it?

  Answers for Christians are obvous as they know Jesus personally. For JW it is harder, as they don't know Jesus personally (how can you know one if you don't talk to him never) all they claim they are taking in knowledge.

  BTW I guess I am asking way too much, but may be somebody could point me or if it has not been done yet, to create full reference guide for "Trinity" broshure quotes to original. I have seen several qutation references and examples as WT twists original texts, but may be there is full table/list of broshure quotes and their original contexts, references!

  Juggling with bible verses, making it say whatever you want

  this juggling act made me think of how the watchtower juggles with verses, and comes out with man made doctrines, making us believe that what they teach is god's will.

  When JW jugle they jugle one ball, strained totheir had with gum, and when it falls down, they just take another ball and call it the old one and keeps juglig - showing you back and saying that they do all right, just you don't see them jugling, you have to believe

  i have some friends who are christians.

  i have gone to their church a few times.

  never once have i heard them or anyone else say they have to attend services.
