  last night's meeting at our congregation was exactly 2 weeks since our public reproof.. my wife was in attendance.

  the local needs talk was about...apostasy!.

  this of course lets the congregation know exactly what our reproof was for.

  A couple of months after I quit going to meetings, an elder told me that there was a local needs talk given about me.

  But get this. I told my wife that I couldn't keep conscientiously going to meetings. She told the whole congregation what I said. So apparently some Witnesses were bad-mouthing me. The elder told me that the local needs part was given to stop the congregation from gossiping about me! Yeah, right...

  Two Elders Came To My Door

  two elders showed up at my door on halloween.

  they were not trick or treating, at least i think they were notat least they did not have candy bags.

  I admire your perseverance. There are three reasons why I was DF'd after 3 years of inactivity.

  One, the two elders assigned to come to my house happened to be in traffic right behind myself, my wife and her sister as we were heading back to my house. They pulled right into the driveway right behind me so it was rather difficult to dismiss them outright or completely ignore them. Especially since my wife and her sister are practicing JWs.

  Two, I am only 29 years old, so the elders likely felt that I wasn't so much of a threat to them. Being a man of middle age, you likely have more respect than I did.

  Three, I finally decided that I didn't care if I was DF'd or not. I was officially charged with association with a disfellowshipped person and sharing in his wicked works. So I brought my DF'd friend with me to the judicial hearing to show that I didn't recognize the elders' authority and to stick it to 'em, as it were. You obviously still want to play the game. I got sick of it and never looked back.

  Is the Devil really that clever?

  people usually turn to god in times of distress and tend to forget about god when things are going a bit better,right?

  so if the devil really wanted to succeed in turning people away from god all he would have to do is make life more comfortable for all of us.

  i mean lets face it if everyone was loaded with money had access to every convenience, if health was not an issue we all had to confront would we look to god for salvation then?

  In my conversations with religious Jews, I have been informed that Satan was a created agent (not just angel) of God, and he's just doing his job. It's not exactly an admirable job, but he carries out God's will in testing and stumbling humans. Notice that in Job, Satan is a member of God's house, and those texts about Satan/Jehovah causing David to take a census? Makes perfect sense if you consider that Satan is working for Jehovah all the while. It was not until Christianity borrowed from pagan dualistic ideas that Satan became a fallen angel and God's ultimate antithesis.

  The real Satan is not interested in causing trouble, misleading people by giving them wealth and prosperity, or even himself and any other alleged supernatural entity.

  there is this great big hole in my heart.

  he started acting poorly last wed. he stopped eating friday and went downhill steadily.

  i raced him to the vets.

  My wife and I have three cats. We let them out every night. Most every morning they wake us up wanting to be let back in. Sometimes only one or two cats are there at the door. When that happens I look up and down the street in case one of them was hit by a car. I expect that every time, and it's not a nice feeling.

  Not long ago one of our cats didn't come home for 2 days. My wife was worried sick (literally). Turns out he got shut inside the garage and was fine. But a few days later he came home all bloodied up. We took him to the vet and they said that he was hit by a car and tumbled. Hurt a leg, cracked a tooth (which had to be pulled) but otherwise was okay. He was never a lap cat before but now he always wants to lay down and go to sleep right next to us.

  The saddest thing about having pets is that when they are sick you cannot communicate to them that you want to help them. My brother had a dog that needed two hip replacements. Poor dog couldn't barely walk and there was little or nothing they could do to make the dog feel better. They went ahead and spent $3500.00 on hip replacement surgery, and are happy to have done it since now the dog is much better and gives them much enjoyment.

  Personally, I like my cats more than I do most people.

  it seemed to me that kent posted prisca's pic mainly out of sheer mischievousness and was quite taken aback at her very real distress at having her identity exposed.

  You have several facts about Russell and Rutherford wrong. Russell had nothing to do with the production, distribution, or profits from Miracle Wheat. He said that 1914 would culminate a period of social unrest, upheaval and anarchy -- not a world war inspired by some elect cult. Russell was never a Mason. And Rutherford was dead in 1942.

  One final nail in your theory's coffin: JWs have always, both in print and in word, have said that Armageddon and the new system of things takes place by GOD's decree, not man's, and that GOD performs the actual deed and transformation of the earth into conditions for paradise.
