.
how would you define the word apostate, now that you aren't in sync with the watchtower anymore?

the celestial organization has moved and we are being left behind.
first the awake was going to a monthly issue.. buildings are being sold.. then came the 2005 service report and the stagnating figures around the globe.. then we all heard about the 2,500 bethelites sent packing off brooklyn and the 1,000s on the international branches.. when i first read the news i though they were sending out 2,500+ new apostates to the street.. i started to wonder how will they both address the simplifications and cost cutting and urge the rank and file to do more without pulling the big armageddon card out, since this has backfired on multiple occasions.
downsizing and activity were mutually exclusive imho.. well they are certainly clever.
is it that the WTS is experiencing critical times... ummm financially?
the times are really critical
or is it that we are living in this doomed time of the end.
o, woe is me.

um, i'm new... and young... so this may be a no-brainer question, but
where do you get the 6 from?
Cal.
jehovah used many prophets...to warn...elijah was one such prophet.
jehovah's servants...god's people--only jws.
worshippers of jehovah.
wow, this was my first meeting to Blondie's study of the wtower.
this was great:
instigator of Baal worship in Israel = Jezebel = no burial
continuation of calf worship in Israel = Jehu = burial with his forefathers
and this:
Baal worship was eradicated--but not calf worship
i do have a question though, it was my understanding that those who were buried with their "forefathers" meant they might be "resurrected". (like in the recent questions from readers that expounded on solomon being buried with his forefathers - or something like that). But where does it say Jezebel may be "resurrected"?
Jezebel the dogs will eat up...no one burying her--per WTS doctrine, Jezebel will be resurrected but not the minor children of non-JWs who will be executed at Armageddon to descend into eternal destruction because they were born at the wrong time to the wrong parents.Cal.
has communism really fallen?
that doesn't seem to be the case.
china a country that contains a fifth of the world's population is the new motherland of communism, after russia went capitalistic (or so it seems), there are several other communist countries like vietnam, cuba, many ex soviet states, and there are powerful communist sympathisers elsewhere in burma, south africa, brazil, venezuela etc.
um, i have a question:
pure communism
so in Utopia, communism is described as the answer to all of mankinds problems. to this day, i am stumped if it was written as a sardonic parody/satire of what communism would be like, or if Sir T. More really meant it as a possible solution to the flaws of man's society?
anyone?
i think you've basically covered it all there, Think.
one of the previous posts made me wonder how many active jws post on this site and how many of you are only in because not wanting to lose your family and you are leading a double life and also how many of you are still active but questioning.
please, all of you, i would like to hear your stories (of course not enough info to give away your identity) and why you are still in.
i think a lot of us that are out would be interested.. nowimfree.
my mom was the liberal wit. my dad the conservative. my mom smoked pot before becoming a wit. my dad has never owned a pair of jeans (as in, used to go to the movies in a suit - of course he's changed since he's had kids who made fun of him for it).
when they started studying, and subsequently got baptized, i was the oddball child (the baby of the fam) who thought, "cool, that means i'll be really different from all the other kids".
then i got baptized at 17, started smoking and doing drugs. became a pioneer to ease my troubled, questioning mind, thinking it would redeem me in god's eyes. never made my time. got reproved for "drinking" cause that was all i divulged to the elders (hey, i thought since they're gonna reprove me anyway, i'll just give em part of the story).
then i got reproved again. same story as above.
then i started having existential and philosophical questions with my friends. married one of them. he later da-ed himself and i started allowing myself to find answers to these existential questions since he allowed himself to. then he left me.
and here i am today.
still drinking and smoking... and other

funny, i was just reading some stuff on the cdrom about this and nearly fell of my chair.
Jesus
’ words recorded at Matthew 18:17 also bear on the matter: "Let [the expelled one] be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector." Jesus’ hearers well knew that the Jews of that day had no fraternization with Gentiles and that they shunned tax collectors as outcasts. Jesus was thus instructing his followers not to associate with expelled ones.
km 08/02 3-4 uh, first of all, "[the expelled on]" was inserted by the WTS. the bible scripture doesn't have this in there. Second, Jesus sat and ate with tax collectors. am i wrong? i never questioned things like this before and now they're ALL OVER THE PLACE. what the eff?
