Wow, MsM! I had a dear friend in 1983 get a hematoma after thyroidectomy and crashed. I'm not familiar with risk factors for thyroid problems, but is it inherited? Environmental contaminants (Like the Chernobyl disaster fallout)? Just wondered if there is some was to protect/prevent/screen you other family...

He just called you are started in criticizing? I'm so sorry you are treated so disrespectfully by someone who should cherish you. What a jerk. Big hugs from here! I'm not sure how (someone else here will have suggestions) to set some boundaries when he calls.

Tip from one who has been there: put a tv tray in front of you on the toilet, and a pillow on it. Then if you are super tired but need to be on the potty, just cross your arms and lay your head down. Did they give you the infamous, tongue in cheek brand "GoLytely"?
blessings, Nancy

Dog Lovers? Sad day for me.
by unique1 inwe found out this weekend that my doggie of 10 years has a tumor in her mouth.
it got infected and swelled and that was the only way we knew anything was wrong.
i took her for a biopsy this morning and was told by the vet, that he thought sending the biopsy off was a waste of money.

Dear Unique1, I just went through this same thing with oral cancer in my 18 year old cat. She lived about 6 months after diagnosed. We had her put to sleep, the hardest thing I've done in a while. She was losing weight, hungry but couldn't eat, and having urinary issues because she couldn't drink enough. She still purred and was very alert. I am grateful that she had such a long and pampered life.
Watch your dog carefully, and look for signs that it no longer enjoys the things that used to be fun--going outside, favorite treats, sitting on the couch. You'll know. And look on the internet, you can find lots of supportive stuff about grieving for lost pets.
Blessings!

Jem12, I'm so sorry you're going through this now. Betrayal is horrible. I second the suggestion above to get your finances separate ASAP. Also, consider STD testing at the public health/board of health/free clinic in your area. It is anonymous.
If you are still a faithful witness, go to the elders. If things don't go well with your marriage, you'll still be in good standing and have the support of the friends there.
I'm curious how you chose this site for advice....But you are welcome here!

I'm a ditto of Rolling Rock's post above. Raised in the borg, active unbaptized publisher, elder father....Faded out at 17-18. Never any announcement regarding me that I am aware of. Parents are still in, oldest folks in their congregation. Everyone still talks to me.
Currently being 'love-bombed' while caring for my ailing parents--witness friends bring them a meal almost every day for the last 4 months!

MsMcDucket's mom
by parakeet inmsmcducket's mother died this morning.
she posted the announcement deep in a thread she had started several months ago when her mother first became seriously ill, and as a result the post sort of got lost.
msmcducket, i hope you don't mind my taking the initiative to start a new thread about your mom.
