I asked my wife, who is studying, why the number of remnant anointed is increasing....of course she said it is not.......left it at that, but got her thinking I hope.

Doctrinal ramifications of large increase in 2008 memorial partakers?
by yadda yadda 2 inthe nearly 10% increase in partakers at the memorial in the 2008 annual service report is a huge increase.
there were increases in the previous years too.. this massive increase is no doubt attributeable to the 'new light' this year that the calling of the 'heavenly class' was not closed in 1935, as previously taught.
the new understanding this year is that the calling of the 'anointed' class is 'evidently' still open.

I Miss My Mom
by XJW4EVR inmay 4th was the 15th anniversary of my mom's sudden death as a result of a brain aneurysm.
she died near the arkansas-tenneessee border on a tour bus headed for the brooklyn headquarters.
there were a number of over jws from my, then, local congregation with her and my dad.

An Increase in Knowledge
by cameo-d inwhen a civilization has an increase in knowledge, those in power loose their 'mystery' and thus their control.. when the little people have access to knowledge they have previously been denied, many things come to light.. as a result, those in authority suffer and become objects of contempt.. the people realize they have been played for superstitutious fools.. they have been manipulated and deceived.. .
they have to be silenced, and the information must be denied before they can know every complete mystery.. perhaps this is what happened at the tower of babble.
people came together sharing knowledge, babbling.

Speaking at an evangelical gathering...
by Tuesday ini get alot of crazy messages through my youtube account, i got one the other day inviting me to one of those three day seminar things for evangelical christians.
i keep picturing bible camp.
not to say this isn't someone just pulling my leg, which it entirely could be, basically they want me to do some sort of talk including all of my questions so that they can witness to jehovah's witnesses.

You have some of the best information I have read or heard on dealing with the JWs, but I think it would be very difficult to be amongst a bunch of evangelicals who I am sure will have beliefs WAY different than your own....sounds like a great vacation, but I would be very upfront with the organizer if you are thinking about it, would not want to put myself in a very difficult situation!

Black Families & Shunning
by snowbird inafter reading password's blog on freeminds, and following the thread about the 7/09 awake, i am saddened to hear the experiences of so many who have been shunned by their families.. i confess that when i first started reading at this site - 8 years ago - i couldn't believe what i was seeing.
i knew that df'd persons were to be excluded from any spiritual interaction, but i'd never personally witnessed the extreme shunning that the society encourages.. i've often mentioned that this seldom happens in black families.
of course, i have no statistical evidence to back this up, but i have yet to see a family in my area practice this kind of shunning.

To me family is also everything, I guess a die hard witness replaces family with the org, that is just so sad, because if you have any problems in life and a good family, they will always be there for you........the org tell you to get closer to Jehovah, or seek aid from some other group....
I know this is a bit off topic, but when my wife's parents started to have some issues with each other and had each committed adultery, they were both booted from the congo and then the family still in was told to shun them.....which some did.....at this time they really needed the help of family and the love of a congregation.....well MIL has not looked back at the org, FIL has groveled his way back in, and wife can see nothing but what a 'biblical' arrangement it was (with coaching from the study dubette of course)

Science in the bible......
by insearchoftruth inlast week my wife and i were returning from a trip to the store and she starts talking about how amazing the bible is and how one should really not need to take any science classes, cause everything that one needs to know is in the bible.
she sites the creation story on how it is all in the bible that there was first water, then earth, then vegetation.........i really did not even know how to reply.
i asked her if she ever really critically read genesis for what it said, it is an interesting story, but there are many inconsistencies and even contradictions within the written word.....but of course she attributes that to the mistakes of man recording the information, since every word of the bible is of course inspired by jehovah.

Which Dishwasher should I get?
by asilentone ini have kitchenaid dishwasher, which is very slow in the washing and drying dept.
the previous owner bought it before i moved here.
i would like to get a faster dishwasher.

We just bought a Bosch, very quiet and does a good job, you can only really hear the water sloshing, and that is if you do not have a fairly full load. A bit weak on drying the dishes, need to make sure you do not block a drying vent, otherwise ok.
Also, we got a rebate of $150 USD due to the energy saver feature, this was from the county we live in.
