Organized religion is too much a turnoff...too many personal beliefs. The realization that in the end we are all accountable for ourselves is enough for me.

What are your reasons for not joining another religion?
by MARTINLEYSHON ini am going to start this debate of by saying that those of us who were raised in the so called truth, and i being one of them, can only come to terms with our past by accepting that our parents infected our minds like a virus infects a computer.
we wouldn't categorise children according to their parents' political stance, since they are too young to make up their minds about such matters.
but they (jw) segregate them from the world.

deceased relatives and visiting in dreams
by snarf inmy grandmother passed away in december of this past year.
she believed that all religions were full of false teachings, therefor at times turning to supernatural beliefs.
she believed in ghosts, life after death, etc... anywho, i had a dream a couple weeks ago, very vivid, and we were riding in an old truck down a dirt road with corn growing on both sides.

free2b2me,
You are so right on. John Edwards is a crack and a con, making money off of people's misery. I too feel that nothing is coincidence, everything happens for a reason, wether it is a life changing event or just a simple lesson.

I Can't Believe I'm Becoming an Activist!
by BrendaCloutier ini showed up and walked in today's global million marijuana march held in over 200 cities throughout the world today.
across the street from pioneer courthouse square where we gathered for the march, there were some protestants singing hymns.
so i walked across the street and gave them handouts on oregongreenfree.com, an oregon medical marinuana patient support group.

Hey if you're gonna march the streets for a cause, why not this!! I will admit I was a avid smoker back in the day, but it seems all it did was make me wanna sleep. There have been many studies and articles written over the years about the positive pain effects for people with chronic pain and pot smokin.I say as long as it is made under strict supervision with no chemicle additives, let the people smoke. Prescription pain killers come with soooo many side effects, the only main proven side effect of weed is maybe a few brain cells, but come on, I am sure those prescription pain killers aren't much better. Awesome Job !!!

Thanks for all the posts. I know that the drea has given me GREAT comfort in knowing Grandma is happy. I find myself praying for another dream, I just woke up so refreshed, relaxed and at peace with life, I would love to experience it again. Death is one of those inevitable things everyone must go through, sadly. It is nice to hear that there are others that have had similar experiences.
I was starting to think maybe I just had a wild imagination and should go seek the councel of Psychic Sylvia Browne

My grandmother passed away in December of this past year. She was probably about 30 years old, looked fabulous by the way, and was just asking how people were doing. I told her the latest info on everyone, who was now pregnant, who recently got remarried. She was really concerned about my grandpa and wanted to make sure everyone was helping to take care of him. I assured her that as sad as we all were that she was gone, that everyone who could was helping to keep him busy, and making sure he was getting to appointments and always had a vistor checking in.
My question is, do you believe in visitations of relatives after death? I wasn't too hip on the idea before, but since my dream, I am now leaning more to the believing side. My grandma and I were very close, she practically raised my brother and I growing up, so we shared alot of common beliefs and interests. No one else in the family has had any dreams with her in them, so if this is the case I feel very honored that she would pick me.

Do you REALLY want to know?
by serendipity inis it important for you to know how many sexual partners your love interest had before you would consider him/her for a long term relationship, leading to marriage?
why would that info be important to you?.
that's a question i don't think i'd ask, or answer.

I stupidly have asked that question before. it is useless because you either know the person is lying or it is an answer you didn't want to know. I know because I have been asked and have smudged my answers by a few. Anyway, I think the important thing to remember is that they left their other partners (hopefully) and are now with you, and keep in mind that while they were with someone else that you were probably also with someone else. In my opinion as long as they are disease free, provide for prior children,if any, and treat you good....what does it matter.

I'm feeling low - losing a friend
by Spectrum ini met a girl about a year and a half ago and we became really good platonic friends.
she was bright, cute and always put a smile on my face with her lovely sense of humour, just a great girl.
then one day with tears in her eyes she told me she had to leave but wouldn't tell me why.

What's the funniest thing you did lately?
by JH inyesterday i was right next to my living room closet, which is about 2 feet away from my neighbours living room closet, since we live on the same floor.
let me tell you that i can hear everything on her side and she can also hear everything on my side when we are this close to one another.. so, unexpectedly, i made a very loud fart, and about 2 seconds later i heard my neighbour fooling around in her closet, 2 feet away.
you guessed it, she surely heard my very loud fart

I am a painter, and I was in an apartment painting it, thinking I was all alone, had my headset on, singing, dancing, having a good ole time. I felt someone watching me, so I turned around and there wwas the apartment manager with the new residents. She was showing them their apartment before they moved in....soooooooooooo embarrasing. I can't sing for crap either.

I remeber a little tiff between the mothers who homeschooled and those that didn't. The ones that homeschooled felt they were better parents for giving up material things to better the upbringing of their children so they wouldn't be taught the false doctrines of the schools.

Serious lie - would you dump Him or Her?
by pratt1 ina recent post about whether you could stay with someone who lied about being transgendered remindered me of a situation that occurred in my family back in the early 60's.. my father's uncle went off to college cut off all contact with his family in the 1930's.. fast forward to the 60's, my dad and his brother were contacted by a woman (white) who said that their uncle (her husband) wanted to see them immediately because he was dying of a terminal disease.. imagine my dad's and uncle's reaction when they realized that their uncle had been living the past 30 years as a white man.
after college this blue eyed, blonde haired man changed his name, went into the navy and changed his identy to a italian man.
he than married and adopted 3 children.

Money isn't happiness, eventually the lie always catches up. Stay true to yourself, if people don't like it they can kiss your toe.
