If they could only see clear enough that it is NOT Jehovah they worship but the WTS, then they would feel ashame for what they said or didn't say to you.

My mother started preaching on me today...
by digglina inmy mother has just been preaching to me for over an hour (the usual circular reasonging: i have the truth - if i have the truth they will oppose me - they oppose me - so i have the truth...).
the one point she seems to have is the thought that god has a people to serve him.
the bible does speek of him using individuals, but most of the time he also has a special people.

Anyone know about 'cutting'?
by love2Bworldly ini am researching cutting and self-mutilation because i have a close family member who is doing this--she burned her arm last week and it's bad.
i was wondering--i found an article on the internet that talks about support for the person and how some people get relief by using other methods like icing the skin with ice cubs or flicking themselves with rubber bands.. this person is in therapy and in the care of a psyciatrist too but i just wondered how common this is.
her diagnosis isn't even for sure--could be adhd or depression.. any comments on experience with this would be helpful.

I understand what you are saying anewme. I couldn't believe he could kill his chickens except for food.....and he wouldn't even think of killing the chicks for food when he was ask that question months before he went on a rampage. They were his pets. We took photos of the rooster and he framed the photos and put the pictures on the wall in his living room..

It disturbs me and I know he needs love and not judgment...I am still very much in shock at his action and can't bring myself to call him on the phone to talk. I don't know what to say to him. Sorry about highjacking the thread but in reading the experiences of the cutting of one's body because of depression or stress made me think of my friend because it was so unusual. He must be going through more stress than I know about and I need to call him. Yes this board is good for sounding off. Thanks to Simon....and those who have the ears to understand.

Depression maybe......I am not an expert on these matters.....but I learned this weekend of a friend who is going through a divorce, killed all his chickens and a roster last week, and threw them in the woods...they were his pride and joy...he raised them in his basement from the time they were an embryo until they could live outside and in a chicken koop...he got so excited everytime they layed eggs and he was giving the eggs away there were so many. I have known this person for years since he was teenager...a genuine nice guy who would give you the shirt off his back....I was shocked and dismayed.....We on the outside..don't know what is going on and are powerless to help...His sister is going to stay with him for a month...thank goodness.

300 ELITE Bethel family's?........personal laundry...does that mean a washer and dryer in each unit.
They don't have to go anywhere......everything is at their beck and call.
It's the rank and file Bethelite that will suffer.

For what it's worth, my theory is: God made Adam from the dust of the earth. The chromosomes and all DNA had to be created by God for Adam to come to life in his perfect body. So it is with Jesus. His human life in this case had to be born from a human descendent of the tribe of Levi and not from the dust ....God gave a human body to his son with all the perfect chromosomes that Adam had before he sinned. Mary's chromosomes had nothing to do with Jesus. She was chosen by God to carry Jesus to birth.

so i giggle at the title of this years convention..i have a sick sense of humor
