I'd probably fade also after listening to the example of the "fine Witness" couple who would not give their daughter the bone marrow transplant. I'd give my own life if it meant having my daughter live, I cannot comprend how parents can let a religion decide life threating decisions for them.

Did you ever think you'd stop being one of Jehovah's Witnesses?

I never thought I would leave, although I never took great joy in being a Witnoid either. I guess I thought the end would come when I was a teenager.
When I first got d/f I was "ashamed" and if I saw another JW I would feel bad for days. Luckily that feeling as passed. Now when/if I see a Witness I feel proud and imagine that they are secretly envious of me because of my freedom (which they probably are anyways).

These men would love to sit in on a Thursday night meeting then . .how much more dull can you get??? Or perhaps be a party to a "witness get together" and sing Kingdum Melodies.

I loved your story Lilly.
They say everyone has psychic abilities . .you just need to learn how to tap into them. If I knew how to do it, I would.

Being a JW you are not allowed to voice your opinion or idea different from what is printed . . on this board you are free to (as long as it doesn't get out of hand) without fearing being halled into the "back room" or fearing a judicial committee meeting. Everyone has worthwhile opinions - that doesn't mean you have to agree with them.

From my "disfellowshipped" diary
by AlmostAtheist innonamegiven's thread on the walk of shame (walking thru the hall while df'd) reminded me of my own experience while disfellowshipped and still a believer.
i kept a diary from that time, serving as a safe place to vent off the anger and frustration of being df'd.. here is a little chunk of one entry.
to set it up, "greg" was the chairman of the committee that df'd me.

Thank you for sharing. I bet your diary was a sort of therapy for you.

"Jehovah has blessed me"
by restrangled ini talked to my mom yesterday.
she just had to vent about some "brother" in her car group this week.
he had been in the hospital and racked up a $25,000.00 bill but had no insurance to pay for it.
